I know that this test is usually done in the last few weeks of a single pregnancy, but with ppl delivering early is this done early?
Is there any concern if the test wasn't done and the babies are born early vaginally?

i tested positive for it with my singleton, so the MFM is just going to treat it as if i do have it this time also, just to be safe. They tested for it last time when i was in labor.

I had it done at 7 months maybe with my first singleton? I had the strep B, and all they had to do was put me on an antibiotic with my IV I think? Its all a blur really :)
BUT, I am pretty sure they test you for it before delivery. They wouldnt treat you prior to delivery day anyways. Mention it to your doctor though!

They are doing mine tomorrow at my appt. For my practice, they still try to do it after 35 weeks. I have read some birth stories for twins where they went into labor prior to the test so they gave them the antibiotics while they were in labor.

with my singleton james I was tested around 32 weeks and tested negitive, but he ended up being born with it. He was in the nicu for a week of antibiotics so sometimes the test doesn't turn out right. With the twins my doctor is going to start the antibiotics on me to be on the safe side.

With my first (singleton) pregnancy, I must have had the test done around 35 or 36 weeks, since the results were ready when I had to be induced at 37 weeks. As some previous posters said, don't worry about it too much, since the docs will test you during labor if you start going early. :)

My doc tests at 36 weeks. Well with the boys, my water broke at 2am at 36 weeks on the dot. My appointment was for 9am. Needless to say, they just put you on IV antibiotics as a precaution if you go into labor and haven't been tested. With baby girl, I was tested at 36 weeks and tested negative.
