At 7 months can they be given strawberry baby foods such as... pear strawberry granola? I am assuming that gerber would not have this stage 2 food if it was not okay.

My doctor (who is usually very lax) and wholesomebabyfood.com both say no strawberries, raspberries or any other kind of berries (except cranberries and blueberries) before 12 months. I don't know why they sell strawberry baby food for infants but I don't buy it. I stay away from berries, egg whites, nuts, shell fish, and honey.

Hey all...here is a great website for what they can be eating and at what ages:

Okay now I'm confused because I just looked at this chart and it lists berries as okay for babies 10-12 months. It lists blueberries and cranberries as okay from 8-10 months, but then all berries at 10 months. So is it 10 months or 12 months for strawberries, and why?!

I haven't ever bought the strawberry baby food, but my boys are really into yogurt right now and we got a big variety pack that includes some strawberry so I'm wondering if I can give it to them yet.

After 8 mos. I gave my girls almost anything except for nuts, shellfish, honey etc. Granted I haven't given my girls actual berries, I did give them baby fruit mixtures with berries in them with no side affects. And that was probably at 7 mos. Every doctor / book etc. will say different things etc. - I would go on your kids. Have they had any reactions to any food yet? Are you or your husband allergic to certain foods? If your babes have been sensitive to things, then put it off. or if you or dh have been etc. If you've had no problems, I can't see what it would do - maybe give them a little diaper rash as their skin isn't used to berries - but that will happen with alot of new food.
