When can babies have strawberries? I LOVE those mesh feeders and thought about giving the boys some berries in there too....what is the age for that type of fruit?

IDK, but mine eat them. My doc pretty much gave me the go ahead on just about everything.

I held off on Strawberries until they were over a year old. They can be pretty allergenic in babies.

My doctor gave us the go-ahead for everything but peanuts and shellfish at 9 months. I would watch closely for an allergic reaction, as with everything, but mine had strawberries at 9 or 10 months.

My pedi didn't let us give berries until 1 year.

I think my two were around a year when I gave them strawberries. They can be very allergic.

I want to piggy back on your post by asking about those mesh feeders. We haven't tried to use them, but I know a lot of people do. Could someone give me the low down for what they are all about?

    Thanks!

These are what they look like and you can put crackers, fruit, steamed veggies in them and it gives babies the chance to feed themselves without choking. Not to mention I think you have a lot more options to give them by putting it in there too. Like melon, watermelon, steamed carrots, pears..ect. You can freeze things too, right now I have pears freezing for the boys "snack" when they wake up from their nap or just plain ice cubes are loved at our house too!:) I LOVE These things....best invention ever!!!!

I"m so glad you asked this. Our doctor wanted us to wait until after a year. BUt without thinking I made them a "smoothie" from strawberry tofu...they LOVED it! No reactions. I'm afraid to give them whole strawberries, but I have this seasons fresh in the freezer...
    good luck!

oh and the mesh things are GREAT! A pain to clean, but i really love them!
