So we can finally drink from straw sippies and I hate the ones we have. They are playtex and the whole time they are drinking milk is squirting out the vent.

Which straw sippy do you like?

I would prefer something insulated, and something that when you tip it doesnt pour out super fast as T & E still like to play with their cups some.

    Thoughts?

I preferred NOT to give them milk in their straw sippies. It was too much gunk for clean up!! I kept the Avent sippies.....You'll always have a little trouble with it coming up at first. Don't fill them too full.

i have nuby ones with an extra wide straw that flips down conveniently for when we take them out. they love them, come apart easily for cleaning, and do NOT spill--and mine chuck theirs over the side of the chair at least 3 times per meal....

flip its are the ones we use

We like our sippies as well but the speech therapist wants Thomas on a straw sippy and I figured I would give it to them both as they tend to share some.

I will try not to fill it too much. Thanks

Like pp, we use Nuby flipit. I am told they are bpa free. I just started with these last week. I am really pleased thus far. They have figured out how to drink from them and there is a heck of a lot less spilling!

    Good luck to you. Sotto

I actually really like the Playtex straw sippies -- been using them for years with Nadia. I tried the Nuby straw cups, but you have to bite down in order to get anything, and neither of mine could figure it out.

But, now all three kiddos have the Thermos Foogo straw cup. It's stainless steel, and insulated like a regular Thermos, so keeps things cold for 8 hours, or something like that. I send it in Nadia's lunchbox to preschool...

Down side is that it's really pricey -- around $18 I think. Which is why I only have one per kid!

These are the same ones we use and they LOVE them. Nice for traveling and I've heard that once they get the hang of straws, using other sippies is a bit easier. We are starting to experiment with others now.

i have yet to find a decent straw sippy. we used the nubby ones for a while, but leaked terribly, milk juice whatever surging up through the straw and vent holes when it was just sitting there. We would go to pick it up and it would be sitting in a puddle. i finally chucked them. we're back to regular sippys for now..

I use Nubby too, but not for milk (products). Too yucky to clean. Just water / diluted juices. Like them a lot.

We use the first years disposible straw cups and the Munchkin ones. The Munchkins are insulated. I also keep some Dr Brown's cleaning brushes by the sink and every few days (or if one sits too long and gets gunky) I put the straws in a cup of soapy water for a little while then use the brush to clean them out before going in the dishwasher. Bonus to the first years ones....we use them with regular straws too so when the straws wear out (my guys like to chew on them) or disappear, you don't have to buy the replacements. I tried the Nuby's and they leaked like crazy no matter what I did.

This is what we use also and DD loves it. She used the straw sippy and DS used the Nuby sippy cup.

I have the Munchkin straw sippies and they are cheap and they are the only sippies my boys will drink from period. The other ones that I found all seemed to have a valve on them that you would have to bite and suck at the same time to get anything out.

I have the Munchkin & the Foogo straw cups. Hate the Munchkin.....the flipper can be so hard to open, it hurts my fingers! So forget about the kids being able to open it on their own.....but they can close them fine, so then they're always crying b/c they can't open their cups.

Love, love the Foogos!! I found them at Target for $15, but had to wait forever for them to be in stock. As long as the lid's closed, I have not had them leak. They will, though, if the lid is open. So we're working on learning to close the lids when we're done.

Gerber ones where the cover slides over the straw, maybe $5 each - no troubles cleaning them using an old Dr. Brown's slim brush. We have a few sets and use one per day. Doesn't get too bad as long as you wash everyday.
