So Henry is not able to efficiently drink from a straw. He chews and doesn't know how to purse his lips to get good suction. I'm not worried where I think he needs to see anyone but is there anything I can do to help him? He knows the steps so I am not sure if the drawing up liquid/putting your finger over the hole and holding it up thing will help. It's more teaching him how to purse his lips. He also cannot blow a toy whistle as well as his brother due to the same issue.

Not sure if this would help, but what happens if you ask him to put the straw in his mouth and then kiss it. Can he pucker to kiss you? Just a thought.

Is he able to blow bubbles with a straw? It can be a bit messy but lots of fun! We used to have bubble days when they are allowed to blow bubbles and that is good practice. Once they learn to close their mouths over the straw to blow drinking/sucking also becomes easier.

OoO! I bet he would love blowing bubbles with a straw. I will let him do that.
