straw cups

I am thinking to introduce a straw sippy cup as an alternative to the bottle for their milk. I have regular sippy cups but they leak a lot. I call them sprinkling cans because the children hold on to the handles of their sippy cups and shake water onto the floor.

They have to drink milk in their booster seats or with me holding them because I don't want them sprinkling milk all over the house.

I was thinking to try a straw cup so they don't have to tilt their heads so much. I was wondering if any of you use one you like.

    Thanks in advance!

We bought the Platex Insulator Straw Cups. We've never had a any leakage issues unless they really shake the cups. They were easy for them to learn how to drink from them, too. FYI - I found some cup "leashes" that work really well when we are out in public. They often drop their cups from their strollers, etc. We were constantly either having to carry extra straws with us or having to wash them. These really helped eliminate that problem. They are easy to use and carry along. (The link is for a "cup leash" that I searched on the web. Unfortunately, I can't remember the exact brand that we purchased at the moment...but it is similar to the one that I posted)

Right now we are using the platex quick flip straw cups. Mine do really good with these, but my girls are still pretty small and they are kind of big for their little hands. I would love to get the nuby straw ones that are small but some of these you have to bit on the straw for it to work and my girls don't get that concept yet.

I broke down & spent the money on the Foogo cups after all the talk about bpa. And I love them!! If the lid is closed, they don't leak! And I took a sip from dh's the other night & it actually tasted like water......I've taken sips from their plastic ones before & almost gagged.

We've always used the Nuby straw sippies.

I have eight of the Playtex Quick Straw cups. They do leak a little, but no where near as much as the regular sippys without filters.

I found it wonderful that they learned to drink from a straw at an early age. I didn't have sippys with me at the mall today, but I bought a little jug of milk from Chic-fil-a, stuck a straw in it and we were good to go. Genius!! :D

Edited to add that they are bpa free.

I recently bought some by "the first years". They were cheap and we have had no spills or leaks unless they just turn them upside down.
