Just an update that I had my 22 week OB/GYN appointment and saw Sleepy and Twitchy on the u/s. They were sleeping with their heads next to each other (this week Twitchy decided to be breech, too). At the 20 week peri Level II u/s they measured 11 and 12 ounces which was about right so everything seems to be on track. It is strange after all the drama of getting to this stage and whether everything would be OK that they seem to be growing and fine and I can sleep for hours and hours at a time. It feels like the eye of the hurricane. We've never had kids before or been around relatives' babies for more than a few minutes, so we are about to shift from overgrown DINKs (double-income, no kids) to double kids, reduced income PARENTS??!!!?!? But now it's quiet. Just glowing in attention from big belly and daily "bubbles," lazily getting ready for the big unknown. Anyone else feel this way?

DINKs, thats a good one! My DH and I have been married with no kids for over 6 years and are now in the same situation. It's a little intimidating, but we know its time and are really looking foward to having these two special people added to our lives. Enjoy the pregnancy and get as much 'me time' as you can, its over with all too soon. Just two more weeks from today and my doctor won't stop my labor; weird to think we could have our kids here in two weeks!! It went by so fast!! Anyway, I'm sure you guys will adjust to your new situation quickly and will love your babies before they even arrive! Good luck!

    Sleepy and Twitchy - hilarious!

My DH and I are also DINKS and the thought of two babies is both exciting and a bit of a FREAK OUT. But - they are very longed for and we're very excited. Seeing them on u/s is the highlight for me, i love that. And now that I'm feeling them - they seem to be on an interesting exercise schedule; sometimes it's pilates, sometimes it's high trapeze, sometimes it's tumbling....that's so fabulous too!

I think ultimately that although it will be a major adjustment, it will also be the most natural thing in the world to be totally in love with them. But for sure in six months you're both going to wonder "what did we used to do with all that free time we had?" - even though right now it may feel like you don't have any!
