Stomach virus

A horrible, awful stomach virus hit our house last Thursday and we are all still trying to recover.

I feel like all my efforts of getting them to three solid meals and only 3 bottles have gone down the tubes! They refuse to take anything from a spoon (I'm just trying some bananas and applesauce occasionally). They must still not be feeling well because they just want to take bottles, play for an hour and then go back to bed.

Please someone assure me that once this runs it's course, they will go back to wanting to eat real food again! I'm just worried that I'll be starting at square one with them spitting rice cereal at me!

My girls' eating was messy for about a week. I only gave them a very little at a time (both solids and breastmilk) and still gave them pedialyte for almost a week too.

    Hope they feel better soon!

When my two got it they were not eating "normal" for about 2 weeks, and the first week was barely anything at all (maybe a few oz's or anything otherthan pedialyte and 1-2 spoonfuls of food).

    Hope they are better soon!!

My girls got a real bad case of the stomach virus (that is going around) about 6 weeks ago - it lasted 2 weeks and yes.....they will start eating again but once they feel better. Just keep giving them the Pedialyte, juice, water and water down formula - they'll be fine. My girls are fully back on track.

It's terrible seeing them so sick and helpless. I hope your babies recover soon.

I hope everyone is starting to feel better!

They WILL get back on schedule! Right now it's important to make sure they are getting enough bottles and extra fluids. They will start eating more once they're ready. I know when I get a stomach bug, it takes a while for my appetite to return,

Did you get sick, too? I hope not! Take care!

It started with Breena throwing up Thursday morning. Then she got terrible diarrhea. Then Baylinn started throwing up. DH took her to the hospital because she refused to eat or drink anything and we were worried about dehydration. It hit me so hard I couldn't go to the hospital with them and had to have a neighbor come and take Breena because I had it coming out both ends ( ) fever, sweats and chills. It caught up with DH later on Saturday, though he missed out on the extra fun parts. It was an awful weekend. Hubby and I are feeling better now but the girls still aren't 100%.

I guess you are right about not having an appetite yet. I certainly don't have one so maybe the girls are feeling the same.

    Thanks!
