My dd3 gets this rash after every illness. My ped said it's called a "souvenier rash"- the sickness has left behind a little treat! It's not contagious. The worst is over IMO!

While it can never hurt to get checked out by the pedi, a rash is a very common after-effect of a virus.

The only thing my pedi has warned me about a rash is that when it is strictly below the neck it can be a dangerous blood bacterial infection.

Where is the rash? i always call the pedi office just to be sure.

I agree, but I would put a call into the pedi as well. There are lots of illnesses that are similar to Roseola, meaning that there a fever rash is very common, even though it may not be roseola.

    Hope she feels better!!!

It is very common to get a rash after a virus. My Zack got a high fever, and then days later got a rash. The Pedi called it 'Scarletina' (sp?) Sorry not sure how to spell it. The rash itself is not contagious.
