stomach flu/contractions?

I had a nasty stomach flu on Thursday night and Friday. I was vomiting alot and had some diarhea. Spoke to my obgyn and she told me not to eat and stay hydrated. I was worrying because I was feeling cramp like pains and lower abdominal pains. She said it's part of the flu.
Today I feel much better but still sensitive. I have an occasional feeling of my stomach tightening. This lasts only a couple of seconds and today it was only once. Each day it seems like less times. By the time I notice it it;s stopped. When I was pregnant with the girls I didn't have any contractions because I was on medicine to avoid them from week 20 to 38 and I only remember having painful ones when I went into labour.
My question is should I be worried? Could these be contractions? When do they normally start. I didn't have any similar feelings before I got sick. I can feel the baby moving around like I did before.
Thanks so much for your responses.

If they are not painful and don't last long, I would assume they're Braxton Hicks. My midwife has told me to expect more of those this time around since my uterus has already done the pregnancy thing once before.

If they are getting less and less I would not worry. I think worrying would come when they pick up in frequency and intensity.

I think it was around 20 weeks that I started feeling Braxton Hicks contractions. I aske my Dr. and he said that was normal. I would also say if they are going away, not to worry. Drink lots of water and rest when you can.

I wouldn't worry about it...your body is probably still dehydrated..try to drink more. If this were going to set you off into labor you'd probably know already. I had the stomach flu with the twins at 35 weeks. And within 4 hours of it starting I had really bad ctx. To the point where I couldn't sleep and they were coming every 3 or 4 minutes. I knew I was dehydrated, but every sip I took just came right back up. Went into L&D where they monitored my horrible ctx for a long time while I begged them to just stick an IV in for crying out loud b/c I knew it was from dehydration. They had to wait for a doctor's order I think...well, finally they gave me the dumb IV and after a few rounds of that the ctx started petering out. The intestinal distress can really do a number on your uterus, but chances are if it doesn't feel like you are in a ton of pain then things are probably just settling back down.

Thanks for your posts. i guess I was dehydrated after all. Have been drinking tons of water and yesterday only had one contraction so I guess that's done with for now. That was scary though...
