Well, so far all 3 of my older kiddies had the stomach bug this week...last night I spent most of the night in the bathroom sick too... I'm trying to drink water now so that my supply doesn't dip...but I'm also concerned over whether Julianna will get it. I've never had an infant get the stomach bug before... Her stools are very loose to begin with, so I'm not sure how I would tell. Anyone else have positive stories on nursing babies NOT getting sick when the rest of the family does? Any suggestions over what to do???

I don't think there's anything you can do to prevent it other than to practice good handwashing, keep the other kids away from her and avoid kissing her face, hands, etc. Elizabeth got a stomach virus over Christmas when the rest of us had it, but she and I started getting sick within minutes of eachother. I would just nurse her often so that she stays hydrated. If she does get it, keep nursing. I hope she avoids it though!

OMG I had the worst stomach flu of my life when the boys were about 2 months old. I couldn't keep anything down and could barely get out of bed, it lasted for a whole week. I was sooo sure they would get it but I nursed right through it (thinking I was going to puke on a baby the whole time) and neither one of them got sick. If she is going to get it, she was probably already exposed to it so at this point there really isn't much you can do other that keep nursing she will get your anti-bodies. I hope everyone feels better soon :hug99: .
