22 month old g/g twins and a 15 week old baby girl. We are stuck in the house because I can not take them out by myself. I only have a double stroller and an umbrella stroller. I have thought about carrying the baby in a sling, but I am having pretty bad back pain and issues that I am going to see a nuerosurgeon about....so I just don't think that would be much of option for me. I absolutely can not let one of the twins walk and not the other.....major meltdown. Plus I just can't let the twins out of the stroller. They are like lil crazy wild people in public and would try to run off at every second. We have tried the kid leashes and that yet again led to major meltdowns. So I am playing around with the idea of getting a triple stroller so we can at least go walk the mall, go walk outside (if the weather ever gets nice again), or if I had an errand to run I could do it instead of sending the husband on his way home from work or waiting until he got home. For anyone out there in my situation what did you do? is a triple stroller worth the money?

We have three about the same age and we decided against a triple stroller (at least for the moment). In your situation though with back pain, I would definitely invest the money! My husband has severe chronic pain and basically can't take the kids out for more than a short stroll around the block b/c our boys just aren't willing to walk that far (or that fast, for that matter ;-)!). I'm assuming that a triple stroller will be in our future when she gets too heavy for me to carry, unless the boys shape up and start to be better/faster walkers.
You'll feel so much better when you're able to leave the house and be out and about with everyone without breaking your back!

When the twins were born I had a 15.5 month old who didn't walk til she was 18 months so I had a similar dilemma (although in reverse lol). We have the valco twin with the toddler seat attachment and my 15.5 month old who is afraid of her own shadow loved the seat...the twins however hate that darn stroller (but they hate all strollers). :( It is definitely worth a look though! Another thing you could look into would be the step 2 choo choo wagon they just re-released. Good luck, it is so hard to get out of the house with 3 little ones.

I am in the same situation and have not purchased a triple yet. My twins are about to turn 2 and baby brother is 6 months. If money were no option, I would definitely get the ABC Adventure Buggy, but $1200 is a little steep for me. I have been also tossing around getting the Joovy Big Caboose Sit and Stand or the Obaby Triple Umbrella Stroller (from the UK but eBay has some). Just haven't been able to bring myself to cough up the bucks!!! I have been using our twin stroller while carrying the baby in my Ergo carrier... not an easy task but it works! I get a lot of stares and comments, though... more than usual. Good luck and keep us posted! I'll let you know if I find a good one, too!

What about a wagon? Or the Step 2 Choo Choo (which is just amazingly cute.)

I don't have advice on particular strollers, but I know with my 33 mo. olds... I totally have to still do the stroller sometimes. I know the $1200 seems like a lot, but I would think you could at least get 1/2 for it when you go to sell... I can rationalize anything though...

for my sanity I like to go for walks and I can't do it with the kids walking with me too... so the stroller is a must.

I wouldn't think about the money being spent for a "stroller" but for "mommy's sanity"... good luck!

If I were in your shoes, and I could find the money for it, I'd buy the triple stroller in a heartbeat. I always put my two in one while shopping... I feel like I have more freedom having it. I would go crazy if I didn't have the option of going anywhere.

Since your twins are already 22 months, and you may not get more than 1 or maybe 2 years of use out of a tripple stroller, I would consider a cheaper triple stroller like the Safetech Triple Jogging Stroller. My coworker's wife bought a triple stroller about 2 years ago (for 3 singletons close in age, which he was NOT happy about) and they recently advertised it on Craigslist. I'm pretty sure they paid $450-$500 for it, and I'm pretty sure it was the Safetech brand. Anyway somebody in my MOMs group bought it used for $250, so it ended up being only a $250 investment for them and they got about 18 months use out of it. I could never spend $1200 on a stroller, but that's just me :)

We found a Valco Trimode Twin on Craigslist for half price. Then we bought the toddler seat to make it a triple. It's worked great for us! We did have to put a bit of work into it (new brakes and we replaced the broken sunshades). We do a lot of walking and like to walk around a lake near our house, so for us, it was worth it. We've never taken it in the car though, or shopping, because it's large and heavy.

Thanks ladies. I have definitely decided to get a triple stroller, but I am just trying to decide which one. I like the joggers, but i think a triple one of those would be a pain if I ever wanted to take them to the mall or shopping. I am not sure if it would fit in the doors of some places, much less the aisles. But then again the triple strollers with stadium seating are soooooo long. I guess either way I go it will be some hassle, but at least I can get out of the house!!!!

My valco is tremendously heavy but does maneuver like a dream. It can fit through most doors as long as they are handicap accessible. But my twins don't like the fact that they can't sit straight up in it.
