E and E just turned 2 and we have been using booster chairs at the table. When we have company we always have to pull other chairs to eat and I saw these Stokke chairs online. Do any of you have them? What do you like or dislike about them? Or do you all think I should just stick with what we have? Thanks!

I have 2. I am European and this is what most people use. The Tripp Trapp version has been around in Europe for a long time (just recently in the US). It can be used 6 months + with the infant bar. I started using it at 6-7 months. I love the fact that they look nice (wood), are not bulky, are easy to clean, long lasting (they grow with your child), and the child learns to eat and sit at a regular table without a tray. I would definitely recommend it, but I know a lot of Americans prefer the bulky, plastic ones which have all kind of features (recline, trays, etc.) that I couldn't care less about. It's a matter of preference I guess. I love them!

We just got them (though my nieces have them too, so I had some prior experience).

What I like about them is that the girls love them. :) I also like the 5-point restraint. You can set it loose enough so they can still lean forward over the table, but they can't fall out or climb down until you unbuckle them. I was afraid the girls would reject having buckles on their "big kid chairs," but if anything, they seem to prefer being buckled in.

They are also pretty easy to clean, though not any easier than the boosters we were using before. And they're certainly more attractive.

One of the only drawbacks (other than the fact that they are incredibly expensive -- fortunately my MIL got them as a present) is that with the seat and footrest up high (where it needs to be for young toddlers), it's hard for them to climb in & out by themselves. They can almost do it, but not quite, so they get frustrated. But I imagine this will come with practice.

The only other thing that bugs me is that they require quite a bit of space for the child to climb in & out. Our dining room is pretty small, so they do take up more space than regular chairs with boosters on them. But I think it's worth it.

We bought the older version the kinderzeat when mine were 18 months old and have been using them since. They've been great. The kids climb in and out and will even buckle themselves in. Neither has every tipped over in them either and they are quite easy to wipe down. We bought the cushions for the chairs but probably could of done without them as they seem to be a big magnet for all foods and spent most of the time in the wash.
