No :tomato: for talking about this before Halloween. :D

I'm done shopping for my girls but still need to get stocking stuffers. For some reason, I am stumped for ideas this year!! Have you thought about what you will get your kids? Or have staples you get them every year?

    Thanks! :3:

They make squinkie bracelets? I might stock up on those for birthday gifts.

I have no idea. I know DS's main present and have no idea past that.

I usually do "useful things" in their stockings. Socks, tooth brush, hair clips, new undies. My mom still makes us all stockings with these things too (except undies- she doesn't give us those anymore :D). Last year we put little toy store soft dolls poking out of the stockings too.

Every year, they get an orange in the bottom of the stocking. They also get an ornament for that year usually based on whatever they are into (baseball, a special vacation, princess, etc.). They also get chapstick. Sometimes they get those lifesaver books. Some other ideas I have for my girls this year are:

    Lalaloopsy doll
    nail polish
    hair accessories
    Squnkies
    Littlest Pet Shop Teensies
    crayons
    toothbrush/toothpaste
    socks

Gabe will probably get a lot of the same stuff with maybe some Dagedar balls, Boy Squinkies, mighty beanz (I think that's what they're called).

Thanks for this thread, Chelley. I have been needing ideas too! But mostly for boys, anyone have boy ideas?

Oh, and just for the record, am I the only one that HATES squinkies?! I find those things all over the house. There are probably a whole colony of them living in my vacuum cleaner!

    ETA Leighann... squinkies

    For Sarah-
An American Girl book (haven't decided which one)
    A new Webkinz
scrapbook paper for her paper doll clothes making stencils (They are American Girl fashion studios that have stencils where you design and make the paper doll clothes. We buy scrapbook paper for her to use. If you're interested, they're clearancing out the old sets for $8 a set. It's a paper doll, stencils, paper, and a book explaining clothing from the period. The new sets are $32 and have mostly the same stuff except an extra doll.)
    a little bit of candy
    a new fancier book mark
maybe some Squinkie stuff or zhu zhu pet clothes

    For Timothy-
    A Where's Waldo book
    A new Webkinz
new soccer socks in a fun color instead of just black
    a little bit of candy
    a new, fancy book mark
maybe some of the boy Squinkie stuff or zhu zhu pet clothes

    Heavy on the art supplies:

    regular markers
dry-erase markers (we have an easel with a chalkboard side and a dry-erase side)
    some kind of sparkly crayons/pencils
small art projects like ornaments they can paint, etc.
    stamps and stamp ink pad
anything else I see at Michael's!

    Also:
    more Polly Pockets
one fancy chocolate item (DH's family tradition is a Toblerone)
    some kind of small puzzle
    a book

And we also do useful things:
underwear (although they have so much, the drawer almost can't close--maybe I will skip underwear this year)
a couple of pairs of fun socks
    lip balm
    toothbrush
    hair doo-dads

I really try to avoid buying random small toys and jewelry, or anything else that resembles the stuff that comes in a birthday-party gift bag -- they love receiving that stuff, but I know from experience that it just winds up cluttering up the house.

My girls have been asking non-stop for the spinbrushes (those are the electric toothbrushes, right?) but I have a hard time buying something like that because they don't have replaceable heads. It just seems like so much waste since we replace our brushes every 3 months.

I would take a village of Squinkies over something like Polly Pockets anyday!!

That is a great idea. I usually find some great stuff in the $1 bins. My girls LOVE to make lists, take orders, keep journals (granted, they can't actually "write" it all but they pretend) so we get writing stuff from their bins all the time. We do need to stock up on certain crafts too. :good:

At squinkies are soft. My girls are really balanced on toys. They like hot wheels and dragons and the sort
