I know this has been asked before - probably by me - but I can't find the topic. I'm SO close to being done with my Christmas shopping! I think all I have left are just stocking stuffers.....I have a few:

    stuffed animal for each
    little books
    crayons & coloring book
    bath foam
    toothbrushes
    a few noisemakers

and closer to Christmas I'll probably pick up a few treats like Goldfish crackers, raisins, an orange. But the stockings are my favorite part! What else can I put in there? (I still have lots of room.) Anything practical?

PS - dd really loves lotion right now, but she also has sensitive skin. Do they make like sample sizes of Aveeno or something similar?

We got character slippers (Curious George and Disney Princesses) for the stockings. I'd check the travel section at Walmart/Target or the pharmacy for sample size.

    Bath toys
    Body wash
    Music CD's
    Bubbles

That's all I can think of now...

Target had a bunch of cute wooden cars/trucks/trains in their $1.00 bins up front a few weeks ago. I bought a bunch of them for stocking stuffers.

    We are also putting in:
    toothbrushes
    socks
    mittens
small photo albums from the dollar store with pics of family and animals (the boys love to look at them and our current one is hanging on by a thread.

I was thinking of sticking a box of band aids in each stocking. The ones with the characters on them.

We go through alot of band aids in this house!

Growing up, I always found an orange in my stocking. I think I'll continue that tradition. That will take up alot of room!

I also saw the cute wooden cars at Target last night, so those are still around at least in some stores -- great idea! They also had some Hello Kitty stuff in the dollar spot, and I picke dup a little stuffed HK and a little purse for the girls.

Yeah, I was in there just yesterday and noticed they still have them.

I also got some inexpensive maracas for stocking stuffers.

I go to the dollar store every holiday and get what I can find to put in a bag or stocking

    usually end up with:

books, I even got some that came with cd's
dress up clothes like plastic shoes and holiday head bands (for boys they had pirate dress up stuff)
crayons and a holiday coloring book
    a stuffed animal
learning cards, like I just got Disney ones that you match things together

then my husbands tradition from when he was little to stuff the holes with candy till it is over flowing, not the healthiest thing but it's his thing that he wants to pass on to them

Such fun ideas! Thanks for starting this post. Any ideas I would have suggested have already been mentioned. However, I got so many ideas from the posts of what to put in my kiddos stockings. :)

We do many of the things mentioned but something new I got recently, was small stamps. Michael’s had a pack of 3 stamps and little ink pad in their dollar bin. Also at Michael’s in their dollar section I got some growing animals (put them in water and watch them grow).

I got them some Little Tykes tools a while ago, and I think that they will probably go in their stockings. Oh, some card games too.

I get each of my twins a Christmas tree ornament every year, and I put those in their stockings.

I haven't decided what else to put in them but probably boxes of animal crackers, an orange, and a small toy or two.

Thanks, this is really helpful! I didn't want my girls to have empty stockings, but at the same time, I've spent too much money and they have too much stuff already. So I didn't want to spend more money on random little doo-dads that would get lost in the shuffle. I can use a lot of these ideas for "useful" presents that they will still think are fun (bandaids, ponytail holders, etc.) -- things that I'd buy anyway.
