Stinky pee!

My babies have extremely stinky pee in the morning, it smells almost fishy.(I know, Gross) It's just lately, about 2 weeks now. Anyone else have this, or are we the only weird ones

Could be any of a few things....a reaction to the diaper? Maybe they are eating something new, and it's causing stinky pee? Or, I guess it could be a UTI/bladder infection, but I would think, since it is both of them, it is one of the first 2.

 

I thought I also read that stinky pee can be related to teething??

 

It can definitely be diet too. I would think about anything that has changed in their diet in the last two weeks.

 

If its really strong, and dark... could be an infection.

Check with the DR to be sure.

 

I was thinking Dehydration. Maybe they aren't hydrated enough to flush the toxins... It is summer, and it can happen so fast!

 

stinky pee could be the result of it being in their diapers all night, we usually don't change them until the next am feeding so they are in the same diaper for like 7 hrs and sometimes it is stinky. we use white cloud diapers.

For a while, DD had some serious stink in her morning diaper. She didn't have an infection, though, just strong smelling pee. Either I'm used to it now or she doesn't have it as bad anymore.

 

The couple of times Iris had stronger smelling pee in the morning it was a UTI. It could be a change in diet to. Have you added anything new in the last couple of weeks? Are you using a new diapers? If there aren't any other changes that would explain the change in smell maybe you should check with the pedi.

 

sometimes Addison's is stinky too!! I have even thought she had a poopy diaper when she didn't! I think sometimes the urine does just react w/ the diaper and the combo is stinky!

 

Emma has stinky pee in the mornings too depending on what kind of diaper I use. If I use the Target brand it's horrible, enough to make your stomach turn. If I use Huggies - nothing. Just smells like wee wee. You might want to have it checked out with your doc though if they have stinky pee no matter what diaper you use.

My boys never had problems with stinky pee - isn't that odd?

 

My girls have really strong smelling pee pee when I use the cheaper brand of diapers. If I use pampers or huggies i don't hardly smell anything
