Am I the only one who still uses strollers? My girls JUST turned two and I keep reading people saying that their kids run all over when they take them places...I go a lot of places alone and don't think I'm ready to be stroller-free. Anyone else feel the same way?

I just posted the same thing in the 5-11 forum, so no, you're not the only one! No way would I have given up the stroller when they were only 2. It makes a big difference whether they hate the stroller or not, though -- mine are still perfectly OK with it, but if you have two 2-year-olds who fight you tooth and nail over the stroller, I can see how it's easier to just give it up.

I used the stroller with my twins until last summer when they were 3.5 years old. :good:

I still use the stroller so your not alone. Mine just turned 2 also. I will be using the stroller for alot longer or at least until they start fighting me about it. We mostly only use it though for the mall. If we go to walmart or target I usually try to get those double seater buggys.

I've only recently gone without the stroller and my girls are nearly 3 1/2. At a little over 2, the stroller still lived in my car and the only time I didn't use it on errands is if there was a double shopping cart. Even now it takes a lot of patience to have them unrestrained... preschoolers can only walk so fast and must stop and look at everything.

I still use the stroller for the twins and definately for my younger one! I will be glad when we're just pushing one stroller instead of two though

I still use the stroller. It depends on where we are going and if I'm by myself. We went to an amusement park recently and brought it. They did have moments when they used it. I find this age is hard, because they don't always want to sit in it. I don't plan on getting rid of it for a while.

My boys are 32 months and depending on what I need to buy, I'll either put them in the stroller or one in the shopping cart basket and the other in the seat. Lately my one son will pitch a fit if I try to put him in the shopping cart so I've been using the stroller more and more.

If we go to the park or zoo, I take the wagon.

I actually went w/o the stroller to the library the other day... I had them on the backpack leashes and it went ok. BUT, I do usually still use the stroller. Its at least a nice place to keep track of all our stuff, and when needed I can strap them in and they can't get out. yep, another stroller user!

No stroller here. And let me tell you-I can't believe it! I had the double stroller for the boys. Annabella came along, so one boy was walking, or in a single stroller if there were two people to push the strollers. But most places we were going, they were walking on their own. On a whim(REALLY), we went to Once Upon a Child, saw a single Graco stroller, and went back and traded in our DuoGlider. It was silly pushing it around with just her in it.

So-no stroller by...2.5 years old. They do really well without it-90% of the time. If we go places with a lot of walking, we have a wagon they use.

I did have to go to the mall, more than just a quick Target run. I was FLOORED, when the boys walked the length of the mall-holding hands, and holding my hands! We then went to lunch and walked the length of the mall again-hand in hand. I couldn't believe it. They were awesome! Too bad it isn't always like that!

I've been going out stroller less more and more, but there's some places I just can't see doing without stroller still (#1 being Toys'r Us, #2 the grocery store). My kids hate the thing now though so I've been practicing going out without it and they're doing better, actually listening and following me without darting off in opposite directions most of the time (except if toys are involved). For some reason though they get wild when dh is with me, so it will be a while yet before we ditch the thing.

It depends on how long we'll be out. My two are still pretty good about going in the stroller...but if it's a quick trip, we go stroller-less and if we are going to be walking around somewhere for long time and I think they would get too tired or hot, then we use the stroller. We are not using it as much as we used to.

At 2, we were still using the stroller plenty. By 2.5-3 we weren't using it much at all. When I would want to get in and out of the store quickly, or if there was a lot of walking involved, then we used it. Otherwise, I would let them walk. I still have them because I like to take walks around the neighborhood for exercise so I have the jogger for that and we still have the umbrella for trips into the city or through airports.

we still use the stroller a lot, but i do like trying to go without it - as others have said it depends on the store, the length of the trip, and how quickly i need to get in & out. at some places, like the zoo, i bring the stroller but let them walk. then they only go in the stoller if they aren't listening, or if they get tired & ask to be in it.

I didn't use the stroller much at all by around 2.5. For one thing, they hated being in it once they realized they could walk instead. For another, it was just getting so darn heavy for me to push! But I am really lucky, my 2 are really good with walking, holding my hand, & have never tried to run off or anything.

It all depends on where we are going. In most stores I just use the cart. If we are out someplace for the day, we definately take it at 3. I am trying to wean them off it as we are expecting a second set of twins adn if i am by myself, they will have to walk. They are good adn don't run away, but little legs get tired. MIne have never complained much about being in there.

I am still using my stroller, and dont forsee stopping any time soon (mine are 2yrs 7months). My kids understand that there are sometimes when they dont have a choice, for safety reasons (crowded areas, or parking lots or next to busy streets) they must use a stroller, and they dont complain about it (which is probably why I continue to use it) as they really like going out. I do like having it especially when we go out all morning, as they often get tired of walking and want to take a break so the stroller is good for that.

We still have 2 strollers actually and one permanently lives in my car! I think we will keep them until the kids hit 4 or 5!

mine were NEVER ok w/strollers. i can count on one hand the number of times i packed my stroller in the car and we went somewhere and walked around... i used the bob almost every day from the time they were 5 months to almost 2 years old--but that's when they were on two naps and i'd take a jog/walk while they drank a bottle and took their short nap in the stroller. otherwise--no go. we sold ours a few months ago.
