Nikki, I am so sorry you are going through this...I did from weeks 5-16 it was such an emotional rollercoaster....it finally stopped at 16 weeks. I am now 29 weeks and 1 day! Do they have you on bed rest? I have been on bedrest since the bleeding started....my diagnosis was placenta abrutiva. It did heal itself and both babies are growing well.

    Take care,

    Missy

Oh I can't imagine what you are going through. I've never bled during my pregnancies.. even when I lost this one. I hope you find some answers soon! I hope you have another ultrasound in your future! I'd be a nervous wreck! Thanks for the update!

The words bedrest never came out of his mouth but i was told to take it easy and sit on my butt as much as possible... And I try but im a SAHM with no help but Dh and he works about 10 hrs each day.. So Im doing my best.. I have had to go out a few times and I did alot of walking and the bleeding seemed worse after those days so im really trying to limit it.. But with Thanksgiving and the boys 2nd birthday party coming I have alot to get done...

Im hoping he will do another u/s soon and maybe look for the bleeding so we have a better idea.. the last us lasted 2 min as she was only looking for a fetal pole and heartbeat...

fingers crossed.. the fact that I am having some major morning sickness is giving me hope..:)

I am glad you are still hanging in there!! I bled with the twins for WEEKS! it was awful - it was worse if I had been standing much at all!! they diagnosed me w/ subchorionic hemmorrage. - it got better - then worse and it was a terrible rollercoaster ride. I put myself on "bedrest" - they told me not to lift ANYTHING, and to take it easy, but I layed around for a while and drank ton of water and Boost drinks. finally it stopped and never returned. it is so scary to bleed during a pregnancy - you are in my thoughts and prayers. I never thought about saying this to someone but in your case I am glad you are having morning sickness! I'm thinking that's a great sign!!

It's weird to say, but I'm glad you're still feeling sick! Reassurance in any form helps. I had bleeding scares with both of my prior pregnancies and even a clot with the girls about 11 weeks. We really thought we lost one, but as you can see below...they are both fine! It's a huge rollercoaster of emotions not knowing what's going on in there. Faith is an awesome thing! Please take care and I'll be sure to look for your updates.

I'm so glad to hear the little one is hanging in there! Sorry you feel so crappy, but like you said at least the morning sickness gives you some reassurance! Get as much rest as possible with the little ones running around! I'll be thinking about you.

I also had subchorionic hemmorage diagnosed... basically it's when the placenta bleeds out. It usually settles down in the second trimester when the placenta is bigger and more firmly attached. The amazing thing, which most people don't realize is that the baby does not get it's nutrition from the placenta until the second trimester. So it's not quite as critical in the first trimester. The best advice really is to take it easy and give your body a chance to heal. Brown blood is good...that means it's old...if you don't see red blood then it means you probably aren't bleeding fresh new blood, it's just the old blood draining out. And it can take a long time. I did a lot of research on it when I went through it, and every woman has a slightly different experience. Some women, like me, will have gushing episodes and then nothing in between, where the blood is just kind of accumulating in the uterus but not leaking out. And others will bleed constantly for weeks until it finally stops. I never realized how common the issue is until I started researching it. And although it does technically increase your chance for m/c and ptl and placental abruption down the road, I've rarely actually run across someone who has suffered these things after getting a diagnoses of sch. The tricky part about really labeling it is that you kind of have to catch it in action on an u/s...they have to be able to see the fresh blood seaping out behind the placenta, or the old clot of blood in your uterus...and for many women, by the time they get to the u/s the blood has pretty much drained out...so then it's anyone's guess as to why you are bleeding. It could be the placenta or it could be a vein in your uterus. I had one idiot intern try to tell me that it was probably just a burst blood vessel. And this was after I had gone through , soaking through , 4 pads in 2 hours, I mean by the time I got over to L&D (a 20 minute drive) my pants were soaked in blood...um hello...i think that'd have to be an artery for crying out loud!! no little blood vessel is going to gush out that much blood that quickly. Anyway, take it easy...you'll be nervous for a long time i'm sure...but hopefully it all stops soon. Don't despair if you have more bleeding though...it's very, very common with sch to continue bleeding off and on until the middle of the second trimester.

The bleeding goes from brown to stops to red and yesterday ( i think it was yesterday) there as red with clots only small and then it was back to brown again.. This morning it had stopped again but after my puking episode where i swer my eyes were popping out of my head i started bleeding again.. UGH

Did you have it changing colors all the time.. from old blood to new blood or just the gushing? do you remember any really good websites?

thanks so much for the info... im sure you know how great it is to hear stories about the same things im going through with a good outcome!!!

    Nikki,
I have been thinking of you! Hang in there and let us know how you are feeling. I had some bleeding around 6 weeks with the twins which eventually subsided. They never did find a cause. Let us know how you are doing! You are in my prayers.
