I will try not to let this get too long, but I thought I would share my twins' birth story. I went in Friday the 9th, for my AFI and they were unable to get a good measure, so they sent me down stairs to be admitted. Once I got in to my room, they ordered another u/s and I guess my son moved because they were able to get a pretty decent measure of fluid after all. I was having some very strong contractions though, so when my OB arrived, he wanted me to stay the weekend and be monitored. We changed my c-section date from Tuesday to Monday, as both babies were head up!

I spent my weekend in the hospital which stunk because Saturday was my son's 13th birthday. He was bummed, but he got some really great gifts and came to see me in the hospital so at least it wasn't a total bust! My DH was great and tried to give him a really good day. Sunday, being Mother's Day, and my contractions had subsided with bedrest, my OB let me off the monitors, so I could get up and move around a little bit. My IV ended up backing up on me, so they had to take it out and move it, which was not an all together bad thing, because I was able to get up and take a shower, before they put it back in.

Monday morning, they started prepping me for my c-section, and had me scheduled for the 8:30am O.R. Once we got in there, and I had my spinal, things went really quickly after that. Our son, Stefan was born at 8:52 am and weighed 7lbs 10oz and was 20 inches long. Our daughter Molly was 6lbs even and was 19 inches long. Stefan had a little trouble breathing so they gave him oxygen but, he didn't need it for very long. He was fine by the time I got out of recovery, and they were able to bring both babies in to me right away.

We were suppose to go home on Wednesday, but Stefan was a little bit jaundice, so he went under the lights for the rest of the day and over night. We were finally released on Thursday. I cried all day Wednesday. The post partum hit and I was so sad for my little guy. He hated being in there all by himself. Not only was I dealing with that, but I am trying to nurse my twins. Not an easy feat. Molly's mouth is really small, and my nipples aren't, so it's difficult for her to latch on well. She is a really good eater, but like I said, latching on, is a different story. Stefan latches on really well, but he gives up when it comes to sucking. He gets tired and decides to use me as a pacifier, instead of nursing. It is really depressing. I haven't given up yet, but I am pumping a whole lot more than nursing at this point. :(

The twins are doing great, and go in for their check up with their doctor tomorrow. I went in and had the staples removed today and my OB gave me some water pills, as I am still really swollen from being pg. Anyway, all said and done, things went really well, I have healthy babies and it was all totally worth it. I couldn't love my babies more. I will post pics soon. Good luck to all mom's to be and it is worth all the yucky stuff we go through!

Wow, CONGRATS!!! They are gorgeous and look so nice and healthy!

I hope you're recovering well. C-sections scare the life out of me! It sounds like it went smoothly for you though. :)
