I am almost 27 weeks with di/di twins. When I went for an ultrasound yesterday both babies were head down. I know that nobody knows for sure but it is likely they will stay this way? Baby A has been head down the whole time. Well at least since my ultrasound at 20wks when we discovered I am having twins. Baby B was breech at 20wks. I am hoping that since I am going on 27 weeks and they are getting bigger (measuring over 2lbs each) that they just won't have the room to turn. I am really hoping for a vaginal delivery.

Mine were vertex the whole time until one flipped to breech at 34 weeks. He flipped back to vertex at 36 weeks. Irrelevant for me because I was 100% c-section the whole time ... I know that there are many on these boards who have had flippers, though.

My baby A has been vertex the entire time, like you I found out at our 20 week u/s we were expecting twins. Baby B has flipped from breech to vertex up until 33 weeks. Since then both babies have been vertex. I am hoping for a vaginal delivery, but as of last Monday I am not dilated or effaced so we are scheduled for a c-section on Tuesday.

My baby A switched from Vertex to Breech around 28wks and then switched back to Vertex by 32wks. My baby B has stayed Transverse the whole time. I am also not concerned since I just dicussed my delivery with my OB this week and I think we are going for a C Section at 37wks anyways. So needless to say, even my Dr. said that you would be surprised how they can wiggle their way around in there even late in the game. Good luck!

both my girls were head down at every single one of my ultrasounds, so it can happen that they stay put! ;) GL!

For me baby A was always head down & baby B was breech - until week 34 which I'm not even sure how he did it but he flipped to head down I surely thought they ran out of room. But I wish you good luck babies do whatever they want to.

Both of my boys were vertex towards the end. Baby B flipped breach between 34 and 35 weeks. I still had a vaginal delivery with Baby B as a breech extraction. Good Luck.

A was vertex the entire time for me while B was breech almost he entire time. He ended up being a flipper and did flip at 36 wks to vertex and back again to breech at 37. Went back to vertext at 38 and at 39.4 days was back to breech again. And he was the bigger of the 2 weighing in at 7'2! I delivered both vaginally and naturally with A vertex and B breech. It was a wonderful birth.

Hello, I just was reading thru and your post caught my eye...I am 20 wkks with twins (the easy kind, is it di/di). Anyways, if both your babies are vertex, why couldn't you go for vaginal? Why do they need to scedule you a C, just because you aren't dilated/effaced yet? Can't they induce you? Please enlightned me, as the farther along I get I am very curious about these things?

The way my obgyn office works is....if both babies are head down they will allow you to have a vaginal delivery. If one of the babies is breech you have to have a c/s. I have had three normal vaginal deliveries before without complications. I am really hoping to have the babies vaginally and avoid surgery.

Both mine flipped a lot until staying vertex from about 28 weeks until delivery at 39 weeks.

    Good luck!

some doctors are very conservative about inducing twin pregancies because there is a slightly increased possibility of uterine rupture.

Ahhh... thank you so much. I was wondering if there was a danger in inducing twin pregnancy. You answered my question. I may have to start questioning my MFM about their protocol.

My baby A has been head down most of the pregnancy. He flipped to breech for about a week before flipping back. Baby B on the other hand is constantly flipping. He's flipped probably 7 or 8 times at this point, and I bet he'll flip a few more times before they're here.

Baby A was head down almost the entire pregnancy, but Baby B was our flipper. At 33 weeks he was vertex (he had been breech before that), then at 34 he was breech and I thought for sure we'd have a c/s because of it. Then when I went into labor at 35 weeks exactly B had flipped during labor to vertex and we had a very successful VBAC. So they can flip though the end of pregnancy even if you think there's no room!
