Swimming is a great non-impact activity. I swam all throughout my pregnancy. Many doctors advise women pregnant with twins to stop weigh bearing exercise like running or even taking long walks. Check with your doctor for recommendations based on your actual condition as you progress.

I've been using a prenatal yoga video and I LOVE it! Lots of (gentle) stretching, breathing, and even 3 mins of Kegels (which I never seem to "get around" to doing otherwise). I really think it's helped my flexibility and overall feeling of well being. Great for the blood pressure, too.

My Dr. advised me against walking as a prenatal exercise when carrying twins. She claims that the impact of each step on a hard surface (even a treadmill) and gravity can take it's toll on the cervix over time. She recommended pool activities and prenatal yoga for her top picks.

Probably not a good time to train for any triatholons anyway, so I took her advice and went w/ the yoga. :D

I stopped doing circuit training at 6.5 months/26w (high impact and weight lifting). My pelvis hurt so bad that I could barely walk after the exercise routine. I am now either walking on the treadmill for 3 miles, the elliptical for 3 miles or riding a bike for 8 miles. I wear my maternity belt during the exercise.

Whatever you choose that works for you, stay active. It will help your pregnancy and help ease your delivery!

I fill my kids cups with juice, and walk to the bathroom. That's about it.

 no seriously I can't imagine doing any kind of exercising right now, I am much to achy/sore/exhausted to attempt more than that. A shopping trip to walmart or babies r us just wears me out for the rest of the day!

Good question! My doctor's office has about 7 doctors, so I seem to get different answers from each of them....which is a bit frustrating.

I had some slight bleeding at 8-10 weeks and switched from cardio/weight training to water aerobics. The problem is it was way too slow and I felt like I was losing my strength way too quickly. I have a LOT of weeks left to go and I need/want to stay active for as long as I can.

Last night I went back to my cardio/weight class and it felt great. I was very careful to take it slow and wear a heartrate monitor. It's hard to find any information regarding exercising with twins. With my single pregnancy they encouraged it, but I don't seem to be getting the same response this time around. And to me it seems like it would be even more important with twins....as long as you're being safe about it.
