I posted back in January that I was expecting twins. The idea of having twins now has sunk in and I am getting really excited. My only problem is that I am 16 weeks and barly evening showing that I am pregnant. Most people don't know that I am pregnant or even having twins. I'm 6'0 and wear a size 5-6 depending on the day. None of my pants fit so I am in maternity clothes but it still does not look like I am that pregnant. I'm wondering if it is because I am tall and can hide it. It scares me a little because I lost my last baby in Nov. 2005 and I'm still afraid that something can go wrong. I haven't been to the doctor since I was 13 weeks and I go back next week to get checked. I know I shouldn't complain now because down the road when I am further along I will get uncomfortable but I hear some women pregnant with twins who are not as far along I and they are bigger than me. Sorry to ramble.

HI! Try not to worry. I'm shorter than you at 5'8'' but also didn't show for a while. I couldn't fit into my clothes but people couldn't tell until about 20 weeks w/ me either - and even then not enough to mention it. But you can tell now!!! [IMG]

    I'm sure everything's fine - though I konw it's scary. [IMG]

Try not to worry too much. I'm sure it has alot to do with your height. They have more room to spread out in there - which you'll probably appreciate when you're 37wks pg. [IMG] I can imagine you must be nervous after your loss though. [IMG]

Try not to worry to much...I know, easier said than done. For me I will be 18 weeks on Monday and I am just starting to show, if you didn't know me you probably still couldn't tell I was pregnant. People are just made differently and just start to show at different times...it is all in the genes I think.

I would have to say it was around 20 weeks before I started to show enough that people started to ask...

I'm sure it has to do with your height. One of my closest friends is 6'0 and with both of her pregnanices (singletons), it took her much longer than most others to start to show, though she went into maternity clothes at about the same time as everyone else she knew. I, on the other hand, am 5'2 and had a little bulge from very early on - makes sense, b/c there was no place for the babies to go but to push my belly out! And to start - maybe til week 14 - I just looked like I'd put on weight. I didn't exactly have the baby belly.

No worries - you'll be showing soon enough!

As everyone else says, it's normal. I'm 5'8'' and I felt the same exact way. I'm not 32w4d and still people think i look small for someone carrying twins ... i have friends pregnant with singletons that are much bigger than me. But I've only gained about 12lbs cause I wasn't a tiny girl to start with. Enjoy it while you can ... that's what everyone keeps saying to me.

I actually ran into a girl at Babies R Us who had 3 month old twin boys ... and she said that she never really got all that huge ... I guess just the way she carried them. And she gave birth at like 38 weeks to 6lb and 7lb babies! But because she was a tall girl and I guess the way the babies were positioned, she said a lot of people just didn't believe it was twins!

So no worries ... hang in there!

    Hi Amy,
I wouldn't worry. I definitley think it's your height. I am 5'10" amd didn't really show until about 20 weeks. I was really skinny to start but did gain alot fast so I think people thought I was just gaining weight. I am 36 weeks and 2 days and my belly is huge. My maternity shirts barely cover my belly anymore!!

I'm 5'11" and people don't believe I'm 31 weeks pregnant with ONE child, let alone TWO. I feel enormous, but apparently don't look like what people expect a twin mom to. I attribute it all to my height. It feels like I've got baby parts starting from up in my ribs to down in my crotch. They sure are making good use of the space, that's for sure.

I think it definitly has to do with your height. I think you just carry better than someone who is shorter. My friend is 6 weeks ahead of me and she is a lot taller and is just now starting to really look pregnant. You'll get there trust me, and try to enjoy the time right now that you aren't that big. I was already having trouble sleeping at 16 weeks because of my belly. You're going to be one of those gorgeous tall women with that perfect baby bump!
