just started them on cereal in the am...when did you introduce a second meal...do you introduce new food before or after you introduce more meals?

I would introduce more foods first. ALso we didn't go to 2 meals until the first one was easy. They would eat 3-4 oz a sitting then we went to 2 meals.

    How old are your kiddos?

We started solids at 5 1/2 months, didn't introduce a second meal until between 7 and 8 months, and then finally added a third around 10 months (but I took solids really slow).

Two things: Be sure to start one solid at a time in case of a reaction, that way you can pin point what may have irritated them. Also baby foods are to teach flavors and textures, and are not meant to fill them up. Thats what the formula is for.

I am anxious to start cereal myself in the next week or two! :D

We started solids around 4.5 months. We started with rice cereal, then oatmeal, then veggies, then fruits. We would wait 3-5 days on one food before starting a new one, to watch for allergies.

We started by doing "dinner" in between the last two bottles of the day. Once we had tried both cereals, we added a second meal about an hour after their morning bottle.

We did one meal a day until they were about 6 months and then added the 3rd meal on when they were about 8 months. I started with cereal and then added a veggie to that meal. Then, when it was time to do 2nd meal, I think I was ready to introduce fruits.

We started solids at 4 months, and were on 3 meals by 7 months. My kids didn't like plain cereal, so we went right to veggies and fruits.

We started cereal sporadically at 4.5 months around dinnertime(but they were already getting it in their bottles for reflux). We introduced breakfast at about 6 months and lunch around 9 months.

Same Here! Mine don't really like the rice creal but they get about an hour or two after the wake up bottle then they have lunch around 12 and dinner around 6 with the last bed time bottle around 745.So i just noticed they do eat 3 meals a day, and they still act hungry. Iknow it is not supposed to fill them u and the bottle is supposed to be the main source of nutrition roght now but my babies, I think are starting to look forward to it. However if they miss ameal there are no "complaints'' My babies are 6.5 months and they eat rice cereal green beans, sweet potatoes, peas, bananas, applesauce, and I am introducing squash next week. I think it depends on how your babies respond to the foods if they enjoy eating and get the hang of it just keep going with it. Good Luck!
