So, my just turned 5 mos old girls have been eating cereal at night. I know I can start food and thought about beginning this week. Where do I start? Veggies, I believe, but does it matter which ones to start first? I think I've read begin with the orange ones.... My ped said to only intro a new one every 3 days to make sure no allergic reaction. Thanks for your suggestions!!!

I started mine on the greens first, then orange per pedi's advice. Not sure if it makes a difference though.

I started mine on squash first. My SIL did carrots, I don't think it matters.

I don't think it makes a difference really. I started with bananas, then did peas, then did carrots, then green beans, then sweet potatoes, then other fruits, etc.

I think some recommend veggies first so they don't get a "taste" for the sweeter fruits. I think the same goes for starting the green veggies over the oranges ones because the orange ones tend to be "sweeter." Hope that makes sense.

Yes...every 3 days you can change to something different. That way you can watch for allergic reactions.

    Good luck!

I was so anal about this with the boys... but I think with your first kids you are anal about everything... I followed every rule did everything just right... I started them with their yellow colored veggies, then orange, then green...

With Katie I started with fruits, then went to veggies and did it in no order. She has actually gotten use to the food better than the boys did... and she has eaten more than they had at her age already.

We started with sweet potatoes and then squash. We were told go from orange to green and then do some fruits. And totally agree with the 3 day wait rule. Have fun.

I started with sweet potatoes with all of my kids. And after that it was a random order.
