Starting EI next week for speech.

Ellie was evaluated today and qualified based on her expressive speech. I pretty much knew she would, but wasn't 100% sure. It makes me feel better that I'm not a paranoid mom. She tested at a 13 month old level. I know it's hard to not compare her to her sister, but she doesn't say much at all compared to Abby. I love the girl that will be coming out and Ellie does too. Abby did so great waiting her turn. She's going to teach her some signs to help her communicate too, which I think is a good idea. We'll see how it goes. Ellie had EI when she was an infant for her muscle tone. She couldn't hold her head up at all. She ended up being the first one to do everything after that, until now. So glad EI exists and it's free! It's like having a play date once a week

 

That's great that you're getting her some help! My boys have been in speech with EI for over a year now and we've seen some pretty decent improvements but mostly they just LOVE their speech therapist! They're also going to a play group once a week with other kids that they love to do- it's part of EI and it's designed for them to learn how to follow directions, socialize, share, etc. They love it! Good luck and I hope Ellie has a great experience!

Good for you! Both my girls have just started speech & I wish we would've started earlier. They too have low expressive...here's hoping we both have jabber boxes in no time!!
