Hi everyone, The ladies started daycare yesterday and did really well. Mommy did ok too... better than I thought I would :)

DH and I dropped them off together and I talked to all the teachers about their routines (what little routine they have!), and their personalities and the ladies were immediately enthralled by the other kids. I think that is so funny since they hardly look at each other, but when other kids are around they love to stare at them.

We got there just as some of the older kids were eating lunch and Ana just sat on one of the teacher's laps watching intently while the kids ate. Meara was so comfy in another teacher's arms she fell asleep! I thought I would stay for awhile, but after 15 minutes I could tell they were comfy and happy so I went back to my office to attempt to work. I called about an hour later and both had eaten their bottles and were just falling asleep to nap. I went back a little early with my sister and the girls were just waking up from their nap and getting ready for another bottle. We gave them bottles and talked to the teachers and met some of the other kids, packed them up and came home. All in all a pretty good first day of 'school.'

DH and I will drop them off together all week and then next week DH will start bringing them by himself. Today I will pick them up alone and I think I will use the double snap-n-go stroller. I was talking to one of the teachers about what other twin moms have done and she said at this age its really the easiest. When DH starts bringing them by himself he will bring one in the infant seat and carry (or use the Bjorn) for the other one. Then he'll leave one of the car seats there (we have three infant seats) and I'll bring the s-n-g with the other infant seat and just wheel them out and pop them into the car. I think this will work best for awhile until they outgrow their infant seats- hopefully not for awhile :)

Thats my update... hopefully the rest of the week will go just as well. Thank you to all of your suggestions on my previous post... I agree with many of you that using the stroller is best right now. -Leighann

I'm glad to hear that they had a good 1st day!! I think that it makes it so much easier when they really enjoy the place they are in, I feel better knowing that they love the girls that work in their room.

Don't worry, you'll get the drop off/pick up routine down pretty quick!

Glad to hear things went well! Isn't it funny how they notice other babies, more than each other it seems. Maybe they think of each other as such a constant that they pay no attention! Mine did the same thing when younger, now they interact more.

Sounds great Leighann! I was curious to hear how that went! Happy 4 months to the girls! It's amazing how the time flies!

Glad it went well for you....we start preschool in about 3 1/2 weeks. I am a little worried about the logistics and how they will be a full day there.

So glad it went well for you (and the girls!) YAY!!! The first week is the toughest. My dh always drops them off in the AM and I pick them up in the PM. Taking the stroller would be one way of getting them in and out easily. But what I found to be easier than getting the stroller out and set up everyday was this. My dh would drop them off and leave their carrier seats under each crib for the day. Then when I came to pick them up, I'd just bring the seats out from under their cribs, strap them in, hoist the diaper bag over my shoulder, and carry my girls out in the carriers, one hooked on each arm. And actually, more often than not, the director usually offered to carry one out. I managed with the carrier car seats until the girls were 9-10 months old. Then I just hoisted one on each hip. It gets a bit more challenging, but it works for me. (Especially if you have a van w/ automatic doors). ;)
