My son and daugher both have two front teeth. My son's is a little more up than my daughter. My pediatrician wanted me to continue with their Vitamin D and Iron drops. Well, I stopped yesterday when I noticed that my son's teeth looked stained from the drops. I do brush them with the baby orajel but it looks like there might be permanent staining. What should I do? Should I go to a dentist? Help. Very upset. Yes, I know they'll eventually lose them but still...

    Nicole,
L & M both had grayish stains on their teeth, although they aren't on vitamins or anything, and the Pedi suggested we go to the dentist. we did and it polished right off, although she didn't know what it was either. She said it was superficial b/c it was so easily removed. But I noticed this week, it is coming back. Do they eat yogurt at all? THat is the only thing that mine ea : t daily? unknw:
Sorry I don't have anymore help for you.

My son's is more like a brown and maybe grayish. I don't see how he would even sit still for the dentist but I might give it a shot just in case. I am really upset about it. Nope, no yogurt.

    Hi Nicole,
A few weeks ago I posted about this too. It freaked me out. I had their 9 month shortly after I noticed the stain on N and the dr. said no big deal and it is not permanant. I am in such a fog for some reason right now I cant even remember what else he said. I just remeber being relieved. I dont give any drops so I dont think that is the cause.

The local health dept. here does the teeth polish, and it usually clears any and all stains right up!

I made their first dentist appt with a recommended pediatric dentist for june 21st. Of course the appointment can't get here soon enough! I am HOPING that it's just a stain from the icky generic vitamins that cvs gave me instead of my regular brand as I just noticed it shortly after I started using it. I stopped the vitamins. As well as iron drops. I am hoping it's not decay. I really don't, I pray. They were getting a bottle before naptime (they would drink and throw it down when they were done) and we brush so I just don't see how it's possible but I guess anything is. But from now on... only water at all for naps and I am going to brush after their right-before-bedtime bottle (hopefully it rile them up to much before we put them down). Thanks everyone.

The girls done great, I just set them in my lap facing me and laid their head in the dentist lap. It took seconds, so it wasn't like they had to lay there long. I would bet the farm that it isn't tooth decay, but I was worried too! Keep us posted!
