At what age did everybody start giving their kids stage 3 foods? My girls are gummimg things real good and the stage 2 are a little to thin. So I was thinking about starting on stage 3 foods, but wasn't sure if it was to soon or not. Thank you

I didn't start stage 3 until about 8- 9 months and the phase was short lived. K&K strongly disliked stage 3's. We ended up skipping them and just going from 2's to table food.

Same here, straight to table foods after stage 2's with all of my kids!

I went straight to table foods after 2's too. DD didn't like the smooth AND chunky texture of 3's, so I just skipped them.

I think it was around 9-10 months... even then they weren't sure about eating because of the texture.

My guys will NOT eat stage 3...I have tried several times (even tried sneaking it to them) they spit every last attempt out. I tried MANY different times and finally gave up.

They eat only stage 2's or table food.

We tried a stage 3 sweet potato last week- the boys ate it up -just like the 2's! It didn't seem any different to me either. _Just a bigger jar. My guys are eating one 4 oz. container a piece and sharing another- so they are getting the 6 oz. like in the stage 3's anyhow. I haven't tried any other things- my ped. said to start table foods when we see her at 9 months. The boys have sampled all sorts of things though [IMG]!!!

Ditto, we never did stage 3. It seemed to me that if they are ready for that, they're ready for table foods. Sarah actually still eats about half stage 2 purees, because she seems to have texture issues, but she'd still rather eat bread & crackers and the occasional soft fruit as opposed to the stage 3 foods. I think the mixture of flavors and textures in them actually makes them a little harder to deal with than finger foods are.

Neither of mine like Stage 3. We are slowly adding more and more finger foods, but right now it is kinda going slow. They really like most of the stage 2s and it is easeir at the moment.
