spotting question

Just wondering if anyone has had spotting? I am 13.5 weeks pregnant and have had spotting off and on since 6.5 weeks. I have had a number of ultrasounds and the docs never can find any reason for the spotting. The babies are both doing great so it isn't affecting them.

 

I think some spotting is normal in the first trimester. But glad you have had u/s and the babies are fine.

 

I spotted at least once a week from the day that I missed my period to about 14 weeks. Sometimes I would go to the bathroom and it would be bright red and all the time it would be a little bit brown when i wiped. It made me a nervous wreck and I ended up with ultrasounds about once a week. Despite all of that I am now 25 weeks with healthy babies kicking around. I was really relieved when I was certain that the spotting had gone away. It seemed to get worse for me if I did too much in one day (which was still a lot less than I was used to doing) so I was on a modified bed rest where I just took it easy and really didn't do any heavy cleaning or cooking and especially grocery shopping which would really zap me. I actually read quite a few sites online where women of multiples said they had spotted during the first trimester and all was well. I wish you and your babies the very best and don't worry (too much ) I'm sure all will be just fine.

 

I spotted for several weeks during the first trimester. They never could find a reason for the bleeding either and the babies always looked great. Then, one day it stopped and that was it. I do know that some women spot their entire pregnancy. As long as the babies look good, I wouldn't worry, even though I know that is hard to do. Good luck and hopefully it will stop soon.

 

i spotted a lot during the first trimester, as well. had a lot of U/S's and they couldn't find anything... i finally stopped at about 16 weeks or so (maybe 14?... can't remember). it's frustrating and scary! hang in there

 

I had 2 episodes of spotting this pregnancy at 8 and 9 wks. I am 29 wks now and have not had any spotting since 9 wks. I think it's a pretty common occurence!

 

I had a couple of episodes of spotting in my first trimester. I had a hematoma just behind one of the placentas that was eventually absorbed. That is how I found out I was having twins at 6 weeks.

I had a lot of spotting and bleeding up until 14 weeks. Mine was from a triplet that didn't make it and at my last u/s that 3rd sac was gone, so my spotting should be over too. My DH's cousin, though, spotted/bled through her entire pregnancy! I hope yours is over soon! Even when you know all is well, it's still very disconcerting to see that every, single day!

 

I spotted off and on for the first 16 weeks- even while on progesterone. They never found a reason, even with ultrasounds. My 20 week ultrasound showed two healthy thriving babies though! It was nerve racking to say the least- keep thinking positive thoughts. My doctor said sometimes women just spot off and on for no known reason, and with no ill effects to the babies.

 

I spotted every single day from 5w4d through 13 weeks. I had a heavy red period-like bleed at 11 weeks that I went to the ER for. All that was found was Baby A's placenta covering my cervix, so they figured that the blood was from blood vessels in my cervix breaking due to the placement of the placenta as the uterus grew.

I have not spotted or bled since 13 weeks though I still check daily! *fingers crossed*
