Spotting? (could be TMI)

Hello! I'm a newbie to this forum. I'm 23 wks preggo with b/g twins. I'm concerned 'cause yesterday I found a drop of bright red blood in my panties, but i couldn't locate the source. The blood on my panties didn't seem mixed with my normal vaginal discharge, and there was no blood in my vaginal discharge on the tissue paper. I can't find any other cut in the area. I haven't had any spotting since. I should add that I'm generally a bleeder (not vaginal--I bleed everywhere else!). I get frequent nosebleeds, ecezma, etc. So, I'm not sure if the blood is just from irritated tissue near the vagina (the area feels sore because of how frequently I go to the bathroom these days) or the vagina itself. Oh, and I'm not getting any contractions except for the occasional braxton hicks (very occasional).

I have a sonogram appointment tomorrow and I will have an opportunity to discuss the spotting with my peri. But I wanted to know if anyone else here has experienced anything like this.

Do you have hemorrhoids?

 

do u think it could be a UTI? is it itchy down there, sore, red? does it burn? thats what always causes my spotting GL at your u/s; and ask your OB to check for an infection.

No, I don't think I have hemmroids. I've had them in the past, but I'm not constipated right now. My prescription prenatal pill contains colace.

I am taking monistat because my OB found yeast last week (I see an OB about a week before my ultrasounds/peri appointments). I did not have any spotting prior to taking the monistat, but shouldn't 5 days worth of monistat have helped the infection? I still have two days left of the medication. I have to call my OB to find out the results of the urine sample I submited last week.

 

I don't really have any advice but I know my doctors asked me to report any spotting right away. The fact that it was bright red though makes you think it didn't "travel" very far. Good luck at your appt!!!

 

I've has lots of spotting and bleeding so far this pregnancy. It's a good sign if it has stopped or nothing after the inital showing. If you have any pain or discomfort anyone I would call the doctors office. I would also take it a little easy and drink lots of fluid. My doc has not always had me come in when I spot but he likes me to call and let the nurses know.

I have spotted throughout my whole pregnancy so far. I had it checked when I was 6 weeks and it turned out be nothing but this is when I was informed I was having twins. lol. The second time there was more spotting then usual so I went to get checked out and they said unless it was pinkish in colour and or saturated the pad like a period then it is alright but to just keep an eye on it. My spotting hasn't affected my twins at all. Both of mine are still healthy and growing well. Some people just spot during pregnancy and it is normal for them. Still get it checked out just to make sure.

Update: My ultrasound went well. My twins are measuring on track. They couldn't determine the source of the spotting. I'm kinda nervous it'll happen again, but at least I know it isn't anything serious so far.
