Hi everyone. We took Evan and James to Jamaica for a week. We came back on Tuesday. While we were away I got tonnes of moquito bites and so did James. At least I thought his were mosquito or sand fly bites. Now we've been home for a week (tomorrow) and James still has tonnes of red spots on his face and hands. Evan has them too now...and didn't in Jamaica. What could they be? The walk-in clinic ruled out chicken pox. James, my husband, mom, and I have had a nasty stomach flu but Evan hasn't. I can't call these spots a "rash" (they don't look like eczema or heat rash) - I don't know what the heck they are. Please! If you have any ideas, let me know. I really want to get this sorted out. I'll try to post a pic...

Here's a link to some photos so you can see what I'm talking about. I really hope someone can help me. I'm in a rush to get this figured out because I'm going for my thyroidectomy on Monday and I want to leave two healthy kids home with my mom and husband...I don't want any extra worries!

i have no clue it doesn't look like chicken pox either. i would take him to the doctors or even the dermatologist.

They look almost like zits. It could be hand foot and mouth disease, the rash does look a little similar, but I've never heard of the rash being on the face before. I hope you get this sorted out. I'd take them to the doctor, as soon as you can.

    Could it be Papular Urticaria??

My older DD had some mysterious rash when I was preg with the boys--not quite as pronounced as Evan and James' but we took her to the Derm to rule out Staph and this is what she was diagnosed with. We have dogs and live in FL so we thought maybe she was having some reaction to either some flea bites or other insect bite. Just a thought.

ETA: It just went away on its own. We did use some hydrocort cream OTC but it really never seemed to bother her.
