    I am starting food...

Can I use the same spoon and bowl to feed both babies?

I used two spoons and two bowls when I first started feeding them solids, then I realized that they are putting everything else of each others in their mouths, so why make the extra work for myself? It's just easier to feed from one bowl and one spoon.

We share! Unless somebody is sick, it's all community property in our house.

Who wants extra dishes, anyway? ;)

I always did one bowl, one spoon. I alternated spoonfuls between them (first one, then the other, etc.). They share everything, including germs!

They shared a spoon! They shared my nipple as well so why not share a spoon ;) As a PP said, everything ends up community property anyway. Once they started self-feeding, I of course did separate utensils

Ahhh so good to know that everyone else does this!! I am going to be starting solids in a couple weeks. Seems so much easier than feeding them separately.

I use one spoon. Even when sick, they have already passed the germs back and forth anyways

Yes, we always share everything here, even when sick. When they had soothers they would swap them all the time anyway, so I was under no illusion that they weren't sharing germs. I had a nurse tell me that I should always keep everything separate and wash hands in between handling both kids. That was laughable.. obviously she never had kids, let alone twins!

We one spoon and bowl it as well, in the beginning we used two spoons but we soon realized how much harder that was!

Here is a video of a lady feeding with two bowls-two spoons. Just watching it (53 secs long) makes me tired!!!!

Unless they were sick, I used one spoon/bowl. Even then I'm sure I didn't make it through the whole feeding without screwing something up! So I'm sure they just shared everything!

I use two bowls and one spoon. I only do two bowls to ensure they get the same amount of food because I worry too much about amounts!

ITO just started rice cereal last week. I hve to use two of each. I mix the cereal with formula and DD HAS to have soy. DS uses regular formula. It makes it difficult. Once we start with fruits and veggies I'm using one!!!

I always used one even when sick. Ironically, many times only one got sick and the other didn't. I always thought there is no way I am going to be able to prevent the germs so let's just get it over with. :)

I always just shared. Too much other stuff to keep up with.

Of topic, but every time I saw this thread in the 'new post' view today I thought of a different kind of spooning. :D

    One bowl, one spoon.
I would say that sometimes you have to learn to alternate spoonfuls into mouths fast - they can get darn impatient quickly waiting for it to come back to them!

Looks like i'm the only one who uses two bowls and two spoons (most of the time at least) :) I don't stress about it though, if we are out, i just use one bowl and one spoon.

I started out using two bowls and two spoons as well. Now it's all the same. They steal each others toys and put them in their mouths so why should spoons be any different. However, if someone is sick I usually use two spoons.

put me down in the category of ABSOLUTELY unless one is sick with something really bad, like a stomach bug.

Same here! Mine are 3 and have never NOT shared an illness and I'm cool w/ that. Better to have them BOTH get it than have one get it now and then one get it later which would be TWICE the length of illness as opposed to getting it all over w/ at once.

It STILL boggles my mind to even imagine using two. Seems like soo much more work for no reason. If one is sick they are both going to get it anyway. The spoon/cup/bottle/bowl/pacifier thing is such a futile battle to fight.

Have fun w/ solids! I loved that part!

We technically use two, but honestly half the time it gets mixed up, or one twin finishes the others food etc.
