I swear, every time I ask about my DS, Aiden, & his spitting up, everyone just says he'll outgrow it. First I heard he should outgrow it by 6 mos. Then by 9 mos. Well, here we are at 10 1/2 mos & it's getting REALLY old. It's not in large quantities by any means, but it's pretty frequent. I'm just soooo sick of following him & wiping up his puke!

Shouldn't he have outgrown it by now??????

What are you feeding him, it may just not be sitting well in his stomache.

It doesn't matter what he eats. Snacks. Bottle. Solids. Baby Food. It's not every meal, nor with every bottle. But it sure is a good amount per day & HIGHLY annoying! It's even worse now that he's eating colorful meals & chunks because THAT'S what's coming up vs just plain ole formula.......

Andrea, we are almost 11 months and Thomas is still a spitting fool. It is so gross. Now that he is on milk, is smells sour and it is worse.
It is so gross! Did I already say that?

My Ped said by 1 year it should be reduced but she has seen cases lasting all the way until 18 months. I will say though in the last 2 weeks it has gotten better! So we still have hope!

Justin quit right at 1 year! It was like a miracle number to us.

Oh how I hate to be the bearer of bad news. Ana still spits up sometimes. It got significantly better after she started pulling up, cruising and walking (gravity helps!). Before standing it was like every couple hours (so probably 5+ times a day), after standing down to 1-2 times. Now it happens only 1-2 times per week.

Perhaps he "should have'' outgrown it by not necessarily. My brother whom we affectionately named "Ralphie" puked his guts up until 16 months old.. and I mean.. "Splash" on the floor puked 20 times per day.

The Ped told my mom that once he started solids and "big people" food, he'd quit.. My mom always says "Nope, it didn't get any better.. I just had polka dot carpeting once he started eating colored foods!"

Anyway.. I think it all depends on the baby.

Gabe, my puker, has stopped PUKING! The crazy part is; it happened on his 8 month bday! Weird, I know.. (7 adjusted tho.)

It's sooo much nicer to not have to change outfits, blankets, bibs, etc a million times per day!!

It will get better. I don't think there is a magic time tho.. :)

    A year or more?

    GASP!

I think we're going to have to rip up our carpet & start over (probably with hardwood). And no wonder Aiden's a Mama's boy....no one else wants to hold him! Poor baby.

However, I think the WORST thing is that he'll puke & now PLAY in it! YUCK YUCK YUCK!!!!

Ana used to do that too. What is even MORE gross is when you think you've cleaned it all up and a couple hours later you discover something in Meara's mouth....UG!

YEEES! I just wondered about the spitting up of whole Cheerios this morning. It's disgusting! And Braxton is still EBF and his still smells 50 times worse than it did a few months ago  . It's so gross. And before you go ripping your carpet, we have all hardwood on our living area floor and carpet in the bedrooms and let me tell you, the wood is just as abad because it gets in the cracks and you THINK you've gotten it up, but you find later that you didn't...yuk!

I think its different with every baby. Jenna stopped at about 7 months, but at 9 1/2 months, Ryan is still spitting up frequently. It is definitely better than it was 6 months ago though! I hope things get better for you soon. :hug99:

Oh yeah -- my spitter likes to do that too -- (and his brother will join in if he gets a chance  ) Both of mine were big spitters from the beginning -- and I like you I kept waiting for the "magical" date that it would all get better. One of mine has all but stoped -- but the other is going strong...ugh.....

My DD stopped at around a year. I remember people saying it would go away at 6 months, then 9 months, but nope, we lived with spit up until a year.
