In the past day or so, my DS has been spitting up more frequently (he is 7 mos now). He usually has a little spit-up from time to time after a burp while he's eating, but now he is spitting up numerous times well after his bottle is finished (and he's been fussy). No temperature or signs of sickness, other than spit-ups... any ideas??

Is he moving around a lot more? I noticed when mine started to crawl, they started to spit up more (like their bellies were not quite settled yet). I also found with some solids (in our case the orange foods: carrots, sweet potatoes) would also cause more spit up too. As they got older, their spit up started to decrease again.

Have they ever had reflux....mine also did that, but my boys are much younger. Could be a sign of it though...especially if they are fussy when it happens--could be hurting them.

If he seems fussier than normal, maybe it's something he's eating. Have you given him anything new?

Thanks all... He just started sitting up on his own, and he is rolling around more in his crib and helicoptering on the floor. We are trying new foods every few days, but his spit-ups are after bottle only meals, not solids. Maybe it is all the new movement for him that is jostling his tummy?

Mine spit up a bit more once they got mobile on the floor. It should pass in time. If it continues, a call to the Ped might be a good idea.

It definitely could be the mobility especially if they are spending much time on their bellies. Hopefully they will outgrow it soon!

Nate turned into a puke-machine after he started spending much of the day on his belly and moving around. He'd never spit up much before then. Jack was the total opposite; he was a huge spitter early on, and it got much better after moving to his tummy.

It sounds like your DS might be like Nate, but keep an eye on him. Good luck!
