So the girls are refluxers and spit up....oh how I wish one day we all wake up and they stop! But since that isn't going to happen I need to figure out how to slow it down. We recently switched the girls from enfacare (Aidyn) and enfamil soy (Ashlyn) to good start. Ashlyn had major poopy issues on the soy and seems to be doing much better on the good start...spit up about the same. Aidyn however seems to be spitting up much much more! I've noticed that the good start is a lot thinnner than the enfacare. Should I try something else? We've been on the good start for almost two weeks now. Should I try thickening with cereal? Any ideas would help. Anyone else have this problem? TIA We're 7 months today...YAY! [IMG]

I forgot to mention that even though she is spitting up more, she's also eating more. She'll take about an oz more per feeding of the good start and she seems to like it.

I would also like to know too, my boys spit up alot too. they get goodstart from the beginning. If a different formula would stop this spitting up, i would switch in a heart beat.. My house is full of it and so am I .. [IMG] Its gotten a little better now that there eating more food, but they still spit up alot , I think..

Our girls have been on Goodstart from almost the beginning. The pain of spitting up was less once they were on Zantac. Their spit up only got to be less once they were on solids. Now they eat rice cereal mixed with either fruit or vegetables 2x a day. I make the food rather thick, like paste. and they dont spit up nearly as much. Good Luck!!

My girls are on Good Start too...reflux as well...and on Zantac. We tried Axid, but it made things worse...so back to Zantac. Honestly, I don't think their spitting up has anything to do with the formula...cause I am breastfeeding as well, and when I exclusively feed one bf, it does not make a difference with the spit up. That said, if they kids are gaining weight, are not in a lot of pain, than I would not worry about it too much. YES...I am so fed up and tired of all the spit up, and WHY OH WHY does the spit up always go either down my bra or onto my pants in the crotch area? Oh, and have you noticed how quickly the spit up goes from hot out of their mouths to FREEZING cold in two seconds?? My floors are covered with spit up spots, okay, floods of spit up! Ever noticed how slippery those spots become right after you wipe them up?
My girls spit up all the time. I give them a bit of rice cereal in the AM and PM...it does help keep the spit up from spewing quite so far...makes them spew more like a volcano instead of a wave (just thicker coming up, more like lava than water).
Enfamil made them cry, Similac makes them have gas pains, they refused the Nutramigen...wouldn't touch the bottle!

I am in the same boat. We tried all of the Enfamil formulas and the spit up amounts didn't change. We even put rice cereal in the bottles and it's STILL the same. I think the only thing that "fixes" spit-up is time. So...for now, I am buying stock in bibs and burp cloths! LOL

And, yes to PPs comment about spit up finding it's way onto your clothing. I could have my whole body wrapped in a cloth diaper to prevent spit up from getting on my clothes...and Morgan would find a way to puke on me! [IMG]

My girls are not refluxers but still spit up alot...to add to the funny/not so funny spit up stories...my mother and I were at a store and with baby brain I cannot remember which one (not that it matters) but the lighting must have been a heck of alot better than my house because we were walking down and aisle and I was wearing my favorite tshirt and she blurts out with did one of the girls spit up on you today. I looked down and saw that the entire left side of my olive colored shirt was tinted white...I lowered my head and sadly said no not today and put my sweater on.

P.S. Now just so you know my DH is an angel about doing the laundry so the shirt was clean just needed another cycle.
