spinoff to seperating....

We have a 3 br house and instead of seperating my twins I was actually thinkin about putting all three girls in a room so that I could have a guest bedroom for anyone that comes to help out or visit from out of town. Am I crazy? They are all girls so I figured it could be cute, but DH says that 2 is more in a room than he particularly wants... what do you think?

 

I'm considering putting our twins back together after seperating them 11 months ago. DH thinks I'm crazy for wanting to do it. I think it depends on the kids. You know them best. If it will be a nightmare, is that worth it for an occassional use of a guest room? If it will make them sleep better to have each other's company, go for it!

 

They are all young so I see nothing wrong with it, but your oldest may want her own room when she's older.

 

If you're looking for an honest opinion, I do not think you should put them back together. I think your older daughter will appreciate having her own room. Unless you have guests coming every weekend I wouldn't worry about having a guest room. Arrangements can be made when the time comes.

 

I would leave them apart and put them together only when you have guests - we just stayed in some friends house and they had a queen bed in the "baby's" room (she's 2 like ours) and she slept in the pnp in their closet - but that's beside the point. Maybe she could bunk in with the twins when there is company and it'll be kinda fun!

 

I agree, I would not put them all 3 together. I think your older DD will want her own room and her own space, especially in a year or two.

 

I wouldn't put them all three together. The oldest girl does deserve her own room. When guests visit you can buy/use a fold out couch to make their visit more accomadatable... kwim?

 

What about if you put your oldest in a full size that could be used for guests and you could make a cool "camp" in your room or the babies room if out of town guests come. My brother and SIL have always had a guest room - for the 10-14 days a year it's used. They finally nixed it to give their kids more room. Think about how often it would be used by guests.

 

I wouldn't put all 3 in a room either, I would just make the room when ppl stayed over. Maybe if you had a 5 bedroom home I could see if you really wanted a guest room but other than being cute I think when they get to be 8,9,10 they are not gonna want to be crammed in a room together. Unless you had more children, say a boy, then you would have to put the girls together but if it's not necessary I wouldn't.

 

I see no reason they cant be together. The room is for sleeping and occasional play. I assume you dont plan on keeping them in there 24/7 :lol: I never had a room of my own except maybe for the firssst two years until my sis came along. They may not always be head over heels about being together but it is a good lesson in sharing, respecting others and give and take. On the fun side think of the pajama parties they will have, the secret girl talk and sharing clothes.
Just thought I would offer the other side of the issue.

 

The Brady Bunch girls shared a room! In larger families 3 is not too many in one room, but I also agree that it is a waste of a room to use only for guests who come a few days at a time.
