spinoff: swelling in fingers

So is it normal to have some swelling in your fingers? I've had this and it does worry me a little because of my high blood pressure reading at my last appointment. I have an appointment today, so I'll see how that's doing. My fingers seem to get worse in the evening but aren't really bad and I don't have much swelling anywhere else. I'm just on the lookout for signs of pre-e, but haven't had anything else yet. Could it be from the warmer weather as well? I do remember not being able to wear my rings during my singleton pregnancy at the end.

I think some swelling in the hands is totally normal, especially when it warms up. I got pre-e at the very end of my first pregnancy, and the biggest "strange" swelling place I noticed was suddenly in my face. From what I've read since, this is "sign" for pre-e; so watch for that. I would think your swelling in your hands is normal; I hope your appointment today confirms--keep us posted.

My blood pressure has been slightly high most of my pregnancy, nothing major, my doctor wasn't too concerned because it has been steady, but around 130/70. My fingers were the first thing to start swelling and it is definitly worse in the evening. Since the weather has been getting warmer, if I am on my feet at all my ankles have just started swelling alot. I'm pretty sure a little swelling is fine and not an indication of anything else. I havn't been able to wear rings for a few weeks now.

 

yes i have high blood pressure and i am on meds for it now. Always had low before being pregnatn. Anyway i have carpel tunnel my hands are so swelled. Ankles, feet ugh i am swelled so badly. DOc seems unconcerned!
