Okay, so Double or Nothing's thread established that many of us feel bored at home at least sometimes. And I know that I often get stuck in a rut and don't think about different ways to keep myself entertained while tending to the girls. So ... let's share!

    Mine:

Different NPR shows that I like (I listen to This American Life -- which has stories and interviews around a different theme each week -- Wait Wait Don't Tell Me -- a funny "News quiz" show, and Selected Shorts -- famous actors reading short stories) post their shows for free on the web. If I have the kids in the room with the computer, I can play with them and listen whenever it is convenient for me.

    What are yours?

Exercise! It feels great - especially being trapped inside because of the cold. Just a few jumping jacks even feels good.
Trashy magazines (US weekly, In Touch)...don't tell my husband I buy them [IMG] [IMG] They are so mindless and funny - I know I am pathetic, but it is so fun.

This sounds so dumb but, pick a new room to play in the house. Sometimes all it takes is little change of scenery and everyone is happier and I can get some things done around the house while they are awake so I can do ME things while the nap. For instance yesterday we saton the floor in the kitchen while I cooked/baked and they loved it. The other day I moved all thier toys to the living room and they were like "cool, I haven't played in here before" LOL.

I'm working from home - it keeps me sane. I do web design, online marketing, graphic design and advertising photography for women related companies - fashion, jewelry companies, day spa etc.

Moderating is actually pretty fun. I will on ocassion read a book while the boys nap (I am a speed-reader). Getting out of the house is a huge rut-buster. I often watch educational tv, or listen to it at least while I play with the boys.

Right now my big project is rearranging my living room. I'm definately feeling productive. All I need is a new Entertainment Center. [IMG]

I pick a project to work on, one at a time until each project is done. So far, I've cleaned our house out of all our junk, sold stuff on CL and ebay, donated to charity, put all our albums together, painted a few pieces of furniture, and now I am working on babyproofing. The girls play in different places wherever I am.
