    So this is my story.

When I was single I thought having a family would be the best thing. Then I got married & soon after fell pregnant with the twins. The first four months of my pregnancy was horrible! I was vommiting almost every day. Then just before I gave birth, I had the worst time ever. The twins came 7 weeks early, ds bag of waters broke. I was in hospital for 3 torturous days before they were delivered via C-section. Thankfully they were only in NICU for a week without artificial oxygen before coming home.

The worst part of everything was two weeks after being home I heamoraged severly. I almost lost my life.

Despite all of the above I've seriously been thinking about having another one...but then again really thinking about the above makes me scared...I don't want to go through the above again...

Anyone on this forum who had a terrible pregnancy or birth with your twins then was fine with the third pregnancy?

Need to hear some positive stories...

    Thank you

    Denise

I had a horribel pregnancy in the sense that I was sick from before I found out I was pg up until I was in the hospital having the boys. I was in and out of the hospital a few times and lost alot of weight. The boys were born early and needed some time in Special care but not for anything major. I had a pretty easy labor and delivery but the pregnancy was HORRIBLE.

Knowing full well that I would probably have horrible pregnancy after horrible pregnancy I dont see our family as complete just yet. I LOVE my boys more then life itself but i always imagined haveing a large family. I am going on 7 weeks of this pregnancy and Im really sick again and dont see it letting up soon.

I know not a positive store but no one can decide if its right for you to have more children except you and your DH. As for your bleeding after you came home did the dr's give you a reason why that happened? And give you the chances of it happening again. I have heard all my life that every pregnancy is different.

For me Im just hoping if I have another hard 9 months I have another easy labor and delivery.

Good Luck with you choice its a tough call to make when things didnt go so well the first time.

    HUGS

Yes, it is a tough one.

Thank you for replying to my post. Was thinking that maybe no one would.

I wasnt asking whether or not I should have another baby, just whether or not anyone here was having a better pregnancy this time around.

Yes, I should ask my OB GYN. No the doctor did not give a reason, then again it wasnt him who delivered my twins.

    Thanks again

I didn't have a horrible twin pregnancy (well, it could've been worse)...I was on bedrest for 7 weeks and the last 4 of those weeks I was hospitalized before delivering. My twins were 6 weeks early adn each spent 17 days in teh NICU. My singleton pregnancy...it was flawless and my water broke at 38w5d (4 days before my scheduled c/s)

I'm the opposite - my singleton pregnancy was physically really tough - I felt terrible through the whole thing. Gestational diabetes, high blood pressure, massive weight gain (I was eating for about 6 babies however) - finished with preeclampsia. Compared with my first pregnancy the twins were a dream physically - none of the problems I had with DD. The twins were mono however so emotionally they were tough.

I was told over and over again that every pregnancy is different. I didn't believe it myself but I do now!

I'm not very far along but will say that I truly believe every pregnancy is different. My pregnancy with the boys was fairly good (a few minor issues but nothing major until PTL at 32 weeks, hospital stay followed by strict bed rest and delivered at 36 weeks). Delivery wasn't great but not bad. I did not have a good recovery. I hemorraged and my scar took a long time to heal (I was warned about having to go to "wound care" to have it taken care of...yuck!).

Anyway, I had no morning sickness the first time, no major cramps, headaches, anything. Didn't even really "feel" pregnant until I could feel the boys move. This time, I've had all the early stuff...morning sickness, cramping, headaches, some spotting, etc.

Talk to you doctor and see what he thinks. A lot of what you experienced may have been related to the multiple birth and would not really be an issue if you were to get pregnant with a singleton.

Good luck in your considerations and I wish you well in whatever decision you make.

My pregnancy with the twins was really rough. We did IVF to have the tiwns and I had a ruptured brain aneursym and had to under go brain surgery while 19 weeks pregnant. My husband was told that we would most likely all die. One huge miracle later, all three of us survived the surgery and I went on to carry the twins until 33 weeks when I had to deliver because of placenta and high blood pressure problems. Both were born perfectly healthy and stayed in the hospital for 16 days as feeders and growers and then came home. I was really sick during the pregnancy and on Zofran almost the entire time.
My singleton, was much much easier. I wasn't sick but a couple of times and was well enough to take care of my twins. I still had high blood pressure, but I have to say for the most part it was a much more enjoyable pregnancy. I carried my last one until 38 weeks and got to take him home with me.

Nobody knows what their pregnancy is going to be like until they are going through it. I was scared to death when I found out I was pregnant with our singleton b/c of everything that had happened during the twin pregnancy. But it all worked out and in the end it is so worth holding that little baby in your arms. I hope this story helps in some way.

Thank you so much for all your replies!

Yes, it does help. All I need is to believe that if I decide to have another one, that I will do well! I can't live in fear & what ifs.....

Really appreciate you sharing your stories!

    Bless you
