Ok, so I'm nursing my boys generally 3x a day: in the morning when they get up, sometimes after their afternoon nap (but not always) and usually before they go to bed. I haven't had my period since right before I got pregnant. Anyone else experience this?

DH and I would really like to TTC again but I don't think anything will happen unless I totally wean, which I'm not sure mommy or babies are ready to do!

Thanks in advance for sharing. :)

Granted my girls are only 3 months but no period for me. And I LOVE it!! Because its not like getting the shot or pills where you dont get it for 3-4 months but still have pms, I have no pms which is great!!
I have the occasional pimple but I will take that over becoming Superbitch for a week to ten days before it comes!
    I am nursing forever!!! hahahaa

Still nothing here either...can't say I'm complaining, but I'm not TTC either! I hope you get yours soon but as for me, I hope AF holds off forever!!!

With my son I didn't get mine until I stopped nursing completely at one year. I even weaned down over the course of six months until I was only nursing once or twice a day and still didn't get it until a few weeks after I stopped nursing him completely. With the girls I have been nursing 5-6 times a day for 5 months and haven't gotten it back yet.

My boys are 17months an AF has not returned yet. Granted the boys are still nursing several times a day and STILL do not sleep throught the night. I have to be honest i would gladly trade getting my period back in exchange for them sleeping through the night.

The girls are 6 and 1/2 months and I am nursing 4-5 times a day and no AF for me. I was wondering, too, when/if it would come back while I was nursing ...

HMMM...trading STTN for AF...intersting. I'm not sure if I would JUST YET, but at 17 months ask me again. :) :D

Thanks for the feedback ladies! I've spoken to some other girlfriends with singletons and after ~6 mos of BF, they generally got their periods back. So I was starting to get worried! DH suggested that maybe nursing 2 babies 2-3x a day is like nursing 1 baby 4-6x a day! Not sure if I buy it but definately food for thought!

To be honest, I'm NOT at all missing AF, but would like TTC. No pressure from DH to wean despite his desires for us to pg again, so maybe we can just stick with the status quo... (for now!).

I haven't had a period in over two years :) I got pg while breastfeeding the twins 5 to 6 times a day.

I have at least one friend who got pregnant without ever getting her period back. Try charting your temp and check for cervical mucuous to see if you're ovulating without knowing it.

AF just came to visit me this month for the first time -12 months!! it was SO nice not to have a period for so long and my first one was not all that bad so I am hoping that if she has to be back, maybe she will spare me all the cramping, and heaviness that I had before!!

I read TCOYF and bought a basal thermometer so I could do this, but then in the book, they basically say that if you are still breastfeeding that temp charting isn't going to be reliable.

I always win the award on these threads.. My twins are now 25 months and still no AF. But we co-sleep and I still nurse them throughout the night. I am away from them 3 days/week 8am-7pm with no pumping, but that isn't enough to get AF back I guess. It's fine for me since no plans of TTC.

Got mine on monday - after 4 months. But it's very light, no cramps or anything. It might not even be a real AF, seems more like spotting.

I just went to the gyn yesterday due to cramping and no periods (there was nothing wrong :) ) and apparently I am in the lucky few who get no periods while:
    a. on an IUD (only <20% don't get a period at all)
    b. While nursing

So its been about 29 months of no period for me!!!!! Which is great when you are not TTC (was a problem when TTC!!!)

I remember that being one of the benefits of breastfeeding the kids, no AF. I went from December of 1990 to May of 1996 with no AF and I loved it. Of course that was because I was either pregnant or nursing babies during that time (kids were born 11/91, 8/93 and 5/95). I slowed down to one feeding a day when the kids were a year old and that is when I became pregnant with the next one.

kristi - what kind of IUD do you have?? I have a copper one and I'm wondering if I could be so lucky as to not get AF back with that kind. OOOH!! That would make my millenium!

AF returned a few weeks ago for me (when the girls were 11.5 months). The babies are completely BF and have been sleeping through the night since about 6 months. Good luck!

No period here yet, and I'm only pumping three times a day.

I didn't get AF until DD1 completely weaned at 10 months....
