spin off climbing into crib...

what did you do to keep them in their room? as i said mentioned before I need to close their door or they will never go to sleep. So i need something that works with a closed door. I read someone turned the door knob around so you could lock it from the outside until they go the idea they must go to sleep? I truly dont remember what we did about the door issue with dd? that was 5 years ago almost then of course prolly have to bolt the dressers to the walls right? they have nothing else to play with in there but toys. pretty bare - 2 cribs, 2 dressers and toys in a basket. If i get a gate it will have to be tall enough to keep them in and nothing to climb on.

Definitely strap the dressers to the walls. I would try a gate at the door and see if that helps! We're going to be making the switch soon and I am terrified!!!

 

WE put a childproof door lock on the inside of the door in their rooms and shut the door, they can't open it to get out. They don't have anything in their rooms, so we don't have that issue. WE took out their dresser, toys, ect. Just a mattress, pillow, blanket and a few stuffed animals - for now. We are just in the process, three weeks ago we started when they climbed out of their cribs. Tonight is their first night in twin mattresses (we just used the crib mattress for a while) and their first night in seperate rooms too.

 

I only took converted the cribs to toddler beds 2 nights ago, so I'm no expert!

The first night, I put up a gate on the outside of the door frame (so I could still shut the door), however my son easily climbed over it. I tried another gate we've had in the basement since we moved (by Fisher Price...it's extra tall). So far, they haven't gotten over it, but again, this is only the second night. My older boys weren't big climbers, so I really don't know what else to try. I'm looking forward to reading responses to this post!
