My DS was circ'd when he was like 2 weeks old. The doctor wanted to wait because he was 5'10lbs when he was born and she wanted it to get a little bigger (poor baby). Anyway, we are still having problems with it growing back together. DH has to pull it back every once in a while and then we have to put neosporin on it becuase it's all red.

I think that almost a year and half later this should be healed and not growing back. Anyone had similar problems or think this is a problem?

We are finally at a point where we are no longer having to pull it back to keep it from reattaching, and Ben is almost two.

We never had any problem with reattaching. In fact we were never told to pull it back. Our pedi checks him at every appt and there has never been a problem.

All three of my sons have been circumsized and we never had any problems like that. They were all completely healed and back to "normal" after about a month to a month and half. Me personally, I would ask to have a pediatric urologist take a look JUST to be sure there is not an ointment out there that could heal it up faster for you...but that is just me. If your Ped is not concerned it is probably not a big deal. Hope it heals up for you.

Um...re-attaching? I had no idea this could happen. My pedi never looks more than a second or two when we've taken them in, so I hope that hasn't happened to Alex. Here's hoping it hasn't and my pedi isn't the "hurry up and get out of here" person that I think he is :p

Yes! We have this same problem with one of our boys. I never thought about others having the same issue. Our ped was the first one to notice it and pull it back. OUCH! is exactly what I thought. I always think it's ok until we the dr....lol...then he pulls it back again. I did just do it a month or so ago and haven't checked to see if it's reattached again. We go for their 15mos check on Friday and it's with a new ped (due to moving), so we'll see how he handles it.
I'm hoping it won't be something that continues long term. I guess once it starts growing it should be fine. uggh.
