I'm having a rummage next weekend and have begun to pull out thier old boxed clothes from when they were 0-3 months and up. I didn't have a problem packing the things when they outgrew them, but now ... knowing I'm selling them, and trying to price their cute little outfits that I loved, I spent half the night crying last night! They used to be sooo little, and they fit into those little clothes, and I remember getting some as gifts at the shower and being so excited, and I few I bought new and loved picking out ... and now they are going, and I'm really wierdly emotional about it.

Anyone else bawl over 2 little pair of overalls or am I just wierdly attached here? :(

I haven't had to sell them yet, but everytime I pack them up I get emotional.
I have some friends having babies soon and was planning on passing them along(since they have only been worn like once or twice).
It is so hard though( I keep putting it off).
We definitely DO NOT plan on having more children, but still they are getting so big so fast!! :(

Oh, my, I went through all of our old clothes this weekend to put some on Ebay and just wept! :cray: I don't think that you are overly emotional at all about it!

You aren't the only one! DH and I were looking at pictures last week of the girls in the NICU and then those first days home. I pulled out their coming home preemie outfits and we were just floored that 1) they were that tiny and 2) they let us take them home that tiny!!! I'm keeping two outfits from every size to eventually give them when they get older. It makes packing it all away easier for me.

-Leighann (who cried this weekend when M decided she wanted to hold her own bottle! they grow up *way* too fast!!!)

That's a good idea, to keep one set of clothes from every size. That would make it easier. Not much, but a little.

Suprisingly, DH understood last night why I was bawling, which helped. Glad I'm not the only one!

You are not alone. I was going through their old clothes this weekend too and was very emotional. I have given away a few things. It was nice to have 2 of everything, that way I was able to keep one and give one away. I plan to put them up since we will try to have another child in a couple of years.

I have boxes of clothes I haven't been able to part with yet - it's just too sad! I'll need to get over it soon though - the twins have already taken over our house - and we need the room. My plan is to keep some of the clothes with cute graphics or embroidered designs - and then make a quilt for each kiddo. Not sure when I'll find the time to make them - but that's the plan!

OMG Kendra!! I just did the same thing!! except it wasn't a rummage - friend of my SIL asked me for baby clothes and at first it sounded fine but as I actually packed them up and had flashbacks of my shower and big pregnant shopping days - I cried like a baby!!! and am still teary :(

I'm trying to get myself happy about buying bigger things for the fall but the friend may not get many things from me cause I just can't seem to part with them :(

Yep! I'm right there with you!!! Even though I'm having my twins soon - packing and sorting DS1's clothes was a really emotional experience. He isn't a baby anymore... :(

Oh gosh yes! I'm not a very sentimental person, so this totally blindsided me. I never thought it would happen to me. But then I see the outfits we brought them home from the NICU in, and remember how they were just swimming in them at the time, and now you couldn't stuff them into those clothes, and I get all choked up. I want to give away some stuff to friends & family, but I keep saying, "Oh, not that one...not that one..."

Yes, lots of waterworks here!! Little Natalie's preemie pants would just fall right off her - now they look like doll clothes :cray:

same here. the twins are starting to wear some of Gavin's clothes, and I have cried several times. I was going through all the drawers and cleaning out what didn't fit anymore and I cried again. I think mainly because it has gone so fast. with all the kaos, I feel like I have completely missed the first year. :(

Like a PP mentioned, my being sad blindsided me. I don't have a sentimental bone in my body. Until now. I've started just offering onesies that weren't used, socks, and some clothes with imperfections, i.e., little stains that aren't really noticeable. Ya' know....the stuff I probably wouldn't use again anyway.

All the other stuff....still stuffing up their drawers. We went to Children's Place over the weekend, so after I wash their stuff, I"m going to have to make room for it. Which means I'll have to buck up and start moving real stuff out. So sad....
