DS 1 (5.5 Months) has a red, dry, chapped little chinny chin chin! Think it is from the constant drool and change of weather combo.

Any suggestions on what I can put on this area to help? Johnsons Baby Lotion? Not sure if you can even put anything here since he is very "handsy" at the moment and whatever we put on his chin will likely get into his mouth in some form...

I would put Aquaphor or vaseline on it. That way if he does eat it, it wont taste all that great and might deter him, and it wont hurt him if he does ingest some. Good luck

I second the Aquaphor. It's amazing stuff. It's expensive but well worth it. A little goes a long way so it lasts forever. My pedi gave me tons of samples a couple years ago. I'm still going through all those!

My DD had this about 2 weeks ago on her cheeks and chin, the Dr gave us Cetophil lotion to put on it and it cleared up very quickly!

Aquaphor is my first choice. however, i always apply vitamin E on their face after bath. dont use johnson baby lotion with sense (the pink. itd burn his skin.if you use john, use the yellow bottle.

Anything like that around their mouth I would use vaseline. It will soothe the skin, make a barrier to help stop it getting worse, and not matter if he does ingest some.

I have used johnson's (yellow bottle) on my own lips (so i obviously ate some) and I lived. So I wouldn't worry about using it. But, as PP have said, a vaseline based cream might work better.

I always put Desitin on their faces when they are chapped.
