When I think about how much I  my girls. Yes, there are many times I'm a screaming banshee and just want silence for a few minutes, but then we have these sweet moments and it makes up for all the frustration!!

I spent 7 hours today cleaning stuff I only do a couple of times a year. I also did a bit of painting on some ceilings. My girls were AMAZINGLY good the entire day despite having to play with only each other.

At one point when I was painting I realized I knew they were upstairs but didn't hear them so I wondered what they were up to. So I call up to ask and Lauren answers that they were snuggled in their beds reading books. At the end of the day they kept saying they were such good girls and I was the "best mommy ever". Wow, I was just so choked up thinking about how blessed I really am!!

What have yours done that has just filled your heart lately?

    Awww, Michelle how sweet!![IMG]

I agree, Michelle! There are some days that I am shocked by how good my girls make me feel about myself. I got my hair rehighlighted and trimmed the other day and they went "Ooooh, Mommy, your hair is beautiful!" They are always making me feel so good about things. I'm trying to enjoy this stage of we think you're the greatest mommy before its over forever.

How sweet Michelle! Aren't those the best days?!?

And I agree-there are times when I put the boys to bed, and I hold one like I held them when they were babies, and I get all teary-eyed on them saying how much I love them! Not to mention when I sing "You are my sunshine"....

One morning a few weeks ago, I was getting dressed. That alone is quite the sight! ;) Anthony looked at me and goes, "Beautiful momma!" And when I come downstairs in the morning, Nicholas is so excited and says, "GOOD MORNING MOMMA!" It's just so sweet how he says it! I wish this stage would never end! Most days... LOL!

    these stories!

Sophia comes up to me and says "Hug Mommy" and gives me a big bear hug and then says "Kiss Mommy" and gives me a big kiss
Luke will blow me kisses

    I know, right? :faint:

    YES!!

Oh my gosh, I love it!!

    Absolutely precious!!

Sometimes we need to take a minute to soak it all in. I just love how we are the most beautiful, special, important people in their lives right now.

This is so true! And reading that made me get all teary-eyed as I am leaving for Vegas Friday and won't see them until Tuesday! I've been away from them before, but they are even more aware of it now. It's going to be tough!

Every single night I get teary eyed at how much I love my two. Like you said, there are days where I would give an arm to hear silence... but overall, they bring joy to me every single day. They both are such wonderful and lovable little tikes that I can't help but take all the credit. :p Seriously, I don't know how I got so lucky.

What made me happy today? Hmmm... My Angie helping me get ready for our guests. She saw I was a hot mess getting the house clean and what not, and she cleaned up her room and the playroom to help me out. It just made my heart melt that she saw that and wanted to help me.

I have come to see these moments over the bad ones and it really makes the bad days seem far and few.

Sometimes I feel like I may burst because I'm just so full of love for my little ones...

Lately, DS has started saying often, "Mommy, I just love you So much!"...the way he says it, is so sweet, like he really means it...

So true about taking time to just soak it in, and I love your last statement.

Saturday night the four of us sat down to dinner together. This rarely happens because DH and I stagger our schedules to minimize the amount of time the girls are with the sitter. Meara said "Its so nice to all be here at the table together." Ana then said "It makes my heart happy!"

 This age is the best I think. Like you all, I get upset about the stupid stuff. Yesterday while I was getting ready for church, Mattie came in and said mommy, you are sooooo pretty! I love you mommy. Made my day.

    What a wonderful thread!

Sometimes Ivy will just say, "I like Mommy" out of the blue. For some reason, I find it so goofy and endearing that she says "like." Sometimes when I put her to bed and tell her I hope she'll have nice dreams, she says blissfully, "I will dream about MOMMY!" The other morning, she cracked me up - she shared her brilliant new idea that she should have a big stuffed animal version of Mommy, and Andrew should have one of Daddy. (He is definitely Daddy's little boy.)

And one thing that was really funny but also kind of profound - she sucks her thumb when she's tired or upset, and sometimes I'll tease her by asking what her thumb tastes like. Often she'll just say chocolate or banana of something, but one day she said, "It tastes like Mommy." Talk about the ultimate transitional object.

With Andrew, it's harder to come up with specific things, because he isn't as much of a chatterbox as his sister. But he has the most adorable, blissful, ecstatic smile when I come home, and it's so sweet to roll around and wrestle together and have tickle-fests. He is more attached to DH, but the love between them is incredibly sweet to see, too. It's especially moving because I had a crazy, scary, alcoholic father, and never had any conception of a good dad when I was growing up - so it is really wonderful to see what an amazing father DH is, and how happy Andrew is in his Daddy's arms.

And I actually kind of like it when Andrew wakes up during the night. He is so quiet and snuggly, and calms right down for me. Once in a while he'll wind up in bed with us, and I'll wake up to feel him gently playing with my hair.

I am so lucky to have these amazing kids.
