Something I forgot to mention about our U/S

In the glee of hearing two girls (yes, glee - rather than shock - I am really getting into the girly mode), I forgot to mention the fact that both of our buggars flipped!

Baby A had been head down and is now breech. Baby B is still transverse, but now her feet where her head was.

I wonder just how much flipping they can do. All of this in 4 weeks. At this point, I am really putting myself into the thought of a c-section. I know my Doc will be on board 100% no matter the circumstance. She had a C/S for her twin and singleton birth (the single was first) because she's "seen what birthing can do to the pelvic floor" and didn't want that to happen to her!

So anyhoose - any info out there from you ladies on how much your little peanuts have moved before they were engaged?

Mine moved ALL the time!! They were transverse most of the time. Baby A settled into a head down position at 30-something weeks but B kept flopping around.

Mine switched positions all the time. Pretty much every u/s they were in a different position, and I had a TON of u/s!! I think when you get farther along (34-35 weeks??) they run out of room to flip anymore. I don't know when exactly that happens because I didn't make it that far, but that is what I have heard. Congrats on finding out you are having 2 girls!! Girls are so much fun!!

There is still plenty of time for them to move.

    Rachael,
Your doctor is mistaken, I am dissapointed that a health care provider would say something like this. There is no evidence that I have seen to support the claim that a c-section is less likely to cause pelvic floor damage. Seems like a very weak reason to have a c-section. There are so many more risks having surgery.

If I remember correctly, James (baby A) ended up head down early on and stayed that way until delivery. Will (baby B) rolled and flipped all the time until he settled up under my ribs - not fun to have a head butting you in the ribs on one side and a butt on the other. He pretty much stayed transverse the last few weeks. But, they came at 33 weeks, so I can't help you with the 35 week question. You would be surprised at how much they can move around in there. Good luck!

    Ditto.

Also, they have PLENTY of time to move! My baby A has always been head down, but B was breech until 24 weeks or so. Now they are both head down.

Her comment was not directed at me. It was HER choice as to why she decided to do what she did. The reason I am on board for a C/S is totally unrelated to her reason :)

My two were flipping around until 35 weeks. At 33 weeks they were actually flipping DURING the u/s! They'd start with A, move to B then go back to check something on A and she'd be opposite of how she started. Same with B! It was crazy. Don't worry about positions at this point, there's plenty of time.

Mine were moving till about 34 weeks than baby A stayed head down (he was there for awhile before that) and baby B never could decide where he wanted to be. He was head down breech and then transverse. He stayed transverse but kept filping sides with his head. My OB only felt comfortable with a vag delivery if they were both head down. AAnd I was fine with it. I was scared of a c section, but the whole experance was wonderful for me.

At 34 weeks my baby A went from vertex to transverse.
