Some type of Mommy and Me class like Gymboree

I like to do activities with my girls during the day. I always take them with me to the gym and I've inquired about mommy and me classes there - there is a pool. But the pool mommy and me classes are for children around age 3 - children who are really learning how to swim. So I heard some of the other moms in the playroom talking about how they take their kids to Gymboree, and I saw on the Baby Borrowers when they took the babies to a Gym and it looked like so much fun! So I looked into that yesterday, and found that the activity classes at Gymboree for 6 - 10 month olds cost $85 per child for 1 month...you only go for 1 hour a week and I think that's ridiculous! Has anyone here ever been to those classes, is it worth the $170? I just don't see how it could be worth that much....

Does anyone know of a similar class or any sort of mommy and me class that I could look into? I'm not looking for anything expensive, just something fun to do together.

    TIA!

That sounds ridiculous to me. We have community education stuff around us. It's through the Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) program through the school district. Ours only runs through the school year, but I'll be signing up for something in Sept. Is there anything like that around you? I'm sure it's not as cool as the Gymboree stuff, but it only costs $15 for the whole thing, I think. That may be per child, but $30 is still way better than $170.

I think you'll find with gymboree they only allow one child per adult. :( I think that is the case... from what I've heard in the past. I'd do a community based program like Beth stated. ECFE is an awesome program if you have it in your area/state. Talk to your school district to see if they do anything like this.

I did my gym with my girls when they were a little bit older then your twins. I loved that it was an hour a week plus a free play.
Some of my friends did Little Gym.

We do itsy bitsy yoga and love it. It is songs, stretches, tummy time. Try calling local yoga centers or non-profit parenting groups (maybe parents as teachers) to see if you have it in your area. You can pm if you are interested, I can ask our teacher if there is a national directory.

    Aimee,

There is something called Playaway at a city Parks and Rec center near me. I think it was that cost for an eight week class for both babies!! It worked out to something like 30% of the cost for a sibling. We had to get refunded for the spring class as we were not able to make most of them and they're closed for the summer, so I can't tell you about it from personal experience. However, I've gotten great reviews on it. We plan on going with my neighbor and her baby in the fall.

I'd recommend checking out the parks and recs near you.

Oh yeah, there's something called Jungle Java near me. They have jungle gyms and a toddler area, along with selling coffee, lunch, and snacks for adults. I take the babies to the toddler area and bring their toys to play with. Now that Annalise is crawling she can cruise around. Nikola can try to army crawl after her  . It's free for adults and children under 1 year. GL!

Our YMCA has got some classes, but most of those start over 1 year old. A few start under one, and will let you have two kids and one parent.

Good luck finding something that interests you!

I was going to mention trying either Parks and Rec or your local YMCA! Good luck!

I did a Kindermusik Sing and Sign class with my older DD, but there were twins in our class. She was about 9 months when we did it. We loved it!!
