I thought I would be a pro since I had been here before but like they say all pregnancies are different ;)

    1) I am 28 weeks today and suddenly since two weeks ago the babies went from head down to transverse. When do twins usually stay in their positions? (they are 2 lbs 7 oz and 2 lbs 14 oz) My other set was always head down and never did these acrobats!

    2) Baby b is measuring off. they said it could be a measurement issue. They are doing another u/s in two weeks. So what if they are measuring off? What might happen? two weeks ago they were 4 oz off , today they are about 7 oz off. And the tech said it was his belly that was measuring off. Everything I have read says only identicals have ttts but my doc said it is rare but can happen in fraternals. Any ideas? Just curious as to what they will do if they continue to be off.

    Also update:
Went to hospital for pressure and cramping on Monday eve. They monitored me and nothing was going on. They said likely since my uterus has been stretched so much it is irritable and will only get worse. I got a bag of fluid and a shot of brethine and went home with procardia. Everything good though, I think they are just being precautious.

Anyway, if anyone can answer my two questions I would be GREATFUL! Thanks!

When I was pregnant with my girls, Twin A moved to Breech at 22 weeks and stayed that way. Twin B moved all around, she was in a different position at every ultrasound. She was a real mover and shaker. My OB also had twins and she said both of hers moved from breech to vertex at 34 weeks then stayed that way until her delivery.

My girls are fraternal and were measuring differently and their differences grew. They suggested more rest from 28 weeks on. At my last ultrasound their was still a difference according to their measurements. The funny thing is that they were only 1 OUNCE different when they were born. So not all technnology is correct.

    I hope that helps.

My Baby A only flipped twice and that was at about 28 and 29 weeks. Baby B was constantly flipping back and forth until about 32 weeks. My singleton was flipping until 41 weeks but there was only one of him. :)

If you are having fraternals, the babies may just be growing at their own pace. Is Baby B staying on his own growth curve? Fraternals usually shouldn't be compared to one another because they're two entirely different babies.

I believe that TTTS problem in fraternals happened once ever and they weren't even sure it was TTTS so I wouldn't be looking at that at all.

Congratulations for making it to 28 weeks!! :clapping: That is a huge milestone!

My girls always measured within an oz. of each other until 26 weeks and then they gap continued to get larger. My peri said that it wasn't enough to be concerned about (although she never said what is enough to be concerned about) as it was never more than 1lb.

After I delivered my girls, they sent off the products of birth to pathology and it came back stating that some of the main vessels had fused together, therefore we were at the beginning stages of TTTS but it wasn't severe.

I would just make sure that they keep a close eye on it. Good Luck with the remainder of your pregnancy!

My babies always had a number of ounces difference between them. Then towards the end they started measuring closer together. Ha! Then they were born at 36w with DD 3.10 and DS 4.15 so ultimately over a pound difference! Both were healthy.

My Ob told me that twins don't turn much after 32 weeks, but still can.

After reading up a bit I realized it could be IUGR. He was right on with his sister and then all of a sudden there was a gap. I don't think they are comparing the two, just watching to make sure he continues to grow. I guess I will see on July 1 and get some more answers if indeed he is not growing as he should. Hoping it isn't a problem. My last twin pregnancy they were always right on and head down and besides trying to come out at 30 weeks and some GD it really was a good pregnancy. I sure hope this set will behave themselves.

Another new thing I have to look at is the possibility of a c/s this time around since they are flipping a lot, hopefully they will settle head down. I sure don't need complications and a longer recovery with little help and 3 young kids at home!

Wish me luck, and THANKS for your input!

WOW! Two sets of twins. How wonderful!

Will stayed head down for the entire pregnancy. John was head up, then flipped at 32 weeks, then flipped back at 33 weeks. AND, he's my more active baby now!
