Have you introduced solids yet? How old were your twins? If so how long did it take your twins to get use to it?

Did you start with a tsp of rice cereal mixed with bmilk / formula for breakfast / lunch / supper? For how long?

When did you introduce other solids? What did you introduce?

I havent given my twins solids, but may start to introduce it next month or in their 6 th mnth. I'm waiting for them to show a couple of signs that they are ready for it.

Nope -- we will likely wait until 6 months, if not 6 months adjusted. That's what the AAP is recommending these days...

We started solids with my older DD at 5 months, 1 week -- and I wish I had waited! For one thing, it took another couple months of struggling with it until she finally got it. She'd get irate when I took the spoon out of her mouth, because she tried to latch on to it. And, it's just another thing to do during the day, and it makes a huge mess, LOL.

My little ones are a little behind in trunk strength and head control, so we'd likely have to wait even if I did want to start soon -- they're definitely not even close to ready.

We started rice cereal, but don't push it and don't do it everyday. Just kinda for practice when we have the time. I'm mixing rice cereal with water, for some reason they really didn't like it with formula AND they prefer it thicker rather than runny. This took a few days of experimenting to figure out. I've been offering it either between their late afternoon and bedtime bottle (around 5pm) OR after their bedtime bottle if one finishes before the other, I've been feeding the other off my finger. I plan to just stick to the rice cereal until 5 months when I will consider moving the cereal to a morning time (when they are at daycare) and start offering some of the Stage 1 veggies.

Mine are both sitting up well in their chairs, and they are drinking almost 8 oz bottles, so I figured we'd start now and take it slow!

    Good Luck,
    Suzi

they've been getting rice cereal in their bottles since week 10 (reflux) but we actually intro'd rice cereal as a solid (w/a spoon) just after the 4 month appt. They don't really eat much of it - we're just trying to get them used to the process. but sometimes they swallow. I don't know - it's going slowly! Pedi said we can start other foods at 6 months.

We started solids just this week. I know we are a little early, but they have been having rice cereal in their bottles since they were 4 weeks old, because of Reflux. Both of them LOVE LOVE LOVE eating off a spoon and smile between bites. They have no troubles swallowing at all. They really get it. I truly think babies will tell you when they are ready.

My son was taking 8oz. bottles and crying for more. I knew it was time. The Ped says it is fine as long as we stick to cereal until 4 months when we can start trying other foods.
Both children would stare and smile while I was eating and my son would actually try and grab the food. He is a silly boy!

We just started solids this week (my girls are three days shy of six months, 4.5 months adjusted). They've been getting rice cereal in their bottles for reflux, so I started with sweet potatoes. Neither of them really swallowed much, but they seemed to enjoy the taste. I'm not really in a hurry to introduce solid food, so we'll go slowly, just practice for a month or so with sweet potatoes and maybe avocado.
