My pediatrician said to go ahead with solid foods. We have been doing rice cereal once a day for a while now. So her recommendation was to do rice cereal twice a day for a week or so then three times a day for a week or so (to help increase their stomach size and to get them to be used to more solid foods). Then to move on to green veggies then orange/yellow veggies and then fruits. And to wait 4-6 days in between introducing new foods. AND to also mix the new food with a little bit of rice cereal. And to make sure they are still getting 32oz of milk a day. What was your plan? Also, my daughter does NOT seem to like rice cereal at all?!!? AND did you all nurse/bottle-feed first, then wait an hour and do a feeding? How does this work with naps? I am so confused as to what I should be doing, how to work this in and naps and ? When we started we also did the rice cereal twice a day. Basically the girls hated it. Then I went to giving them applesauce first then the first veggie I did was green beans. I always gave the solids in between the normal bottle feedings. Its confusing at first but once you start it will get easier to figure out a feeding schedule.

I skipped plain rice cereal, it has just never gone over well with any of my babies.

    Anyway we started with:
    Oatmeal
    Sweet potatoes
    Butternut Squash
    Applesauce

I do mix the sweeter foods with brown rice cereal. Next we are going to try peas. I have also found that it doesn't seem to matter if you let them eat the sweet stuff first and save the veggies for later, if they like it, they like it. But I have noticed that jarred peas and jarred green beans aren't very well liked by most babies.

Right now I am doing oatmeal baby cereal in the morning (around the time breakfast is), I just started green beans today ( he didn't like it) at lunch time, and before bed we give the baby rice cereal. I like to feed him first then if he is still hungry he will get a bottle. I also try to do it at times that when he goes on table food he is already adjusted to when we eat and it helps keep a schedule.

  6. I do a bottle in the morning, fruit at lunch with a bottle, a late afternoon bottle, and rice cereal mixed with a veggie at around 6pm. then they go down for the night. They wont eat the plain rice cereal now that they have tried the fruits and veggies. A

Hi. I started with rice once a day, then twice a day, then added a veggie with rice at dinner and now we are starting fruits. Our schedule looks something like this.....

    7:00 wake/play
    7:30 bottle
    8:30 oatmeal and fruit
    9:00 nap
    11:00 wake/play
    11:30 bottle
    1pm nap
    3pm wake/play
    3:30pm bottle
    catnap at some point downstairs
Somewhere between 5 and 6 I give rice and veggie
    7:30 bottle/bed
